Great Optimization Work

goboygogoboygo Member RarePosts: 2,141

Optimization really shows.

Logged in today and after patching the performance increase from day one release is astonishing. I'm running around Stoneholm with all graphics setting at high pulling down a smooth 120 FPS, outdoors its closer to 180 FPS.  I remember when this ran at about 20FPS and looked pretty raw.

Great Work!

However I did notice that with SSAO enabled, the character kind of hitches every couple of seconds and mouse turning cause a kind of hitch too, so I had to disable that feature which is a shame since it really adds to the atmosphere.

Anyone else seeing this, is this a known issue?

I'm in the game right now and the FPS is really freaking good for an alpha.

Do you have an Nvidia card or Radeon? ...I have a 270X and face some weird crazy uncontrollable twitching. It also seems to happen around the starter zone. Need to upgrade my graphics card, probably going to go nvidia route. FPS/Optimization is definitely a Grade A++ I made this   and posted about the FPS on their forums when VSYNC was sort of broken (They fixed VSYNC) in the next update after my thread. Haha.

Was so happy when they fixed it a mere week later... lightning fast! ;D

The twitching is an optimization issue they are working on solving.

Its always great to hear that games created in Unity are running better and better.

With Unity5, they have improved size of the world. What suprises me is the dynamic loading/unloading objects model work quite efficient. It's nice to play now.

it needs to stop scanning 4629 files everytime I run the launcher and only update files that are tagged to do so not comparing files all the time, by time it gets done I feel like closing the game :dizzy:

tagged as of when?  Maybe since the last patch 10 files have changed and it would make sense then.  But what if someone hasn't fired up the game for the last 20 patches and 200 files have changed? Your approach would only be 10 files.  Plus checking the files is good in case a file has been changed 'somehow'.  ;)

the servers are suffering like crazy right now, lag, delays, invisible mobs and general ai. Could not buy a thing earlier from any vendor, then money would dissapear but no item would show from it in inventory. :( seems to of gotten worse of late not better.
