Whats the latest rumors of when this game is due out?

    Frankly - first half of 2017 would be good, early 2017 - excellent.

    I think it has promise as kind of a larger scale moba.  the alterac valley of mobas.

    Kickstarter says Dec 2016.

    Better question is when will it be feature complete and at a quality worth playing.

    No idea what it will look like a year from now, but I assume they are aiming for at least the Core features plus some of the extras.

    wait wut? this is gonna be a moba? not an mmo like ESO, or WOW, or GW2?

    They have done two bare-boned tests (1.0, 1.1) in their hunger dome series, their next test (2.0) is bound to happen in march. Their test versions are bare-boned, its just instanced PvP battles and still not good.

    I find that a beta is unlikely for 2016, which means that a fully featured game won't happen until late 2017 at best but don't be surprised if you have to wait til 2018 for this game to release.

    No, Crowfall is not a MOBA. The Hunger Dome was a MOBA style game, but it existed only to test combat. The actual game will contain much more.

    Beta should start some time in 2016. They may not make their projected December 2016 launch date, but I can't see any reason why it would be pushed back into 2018. My guess would be 1st quarter of 2017.

    In the last C&C podcast, Thomas Blair (design lead) was asked if the recent design change and the extended combat tests were impacting on the initial time-table. Pretty interesting answer [32:53] :

    Game reminds me a little of a mix between an MMO and a MOBA, a MMOBA.
    Not a bad idea for competitive gamers.

    The Kickstarter began 24 February 2015 and was fully funded by 26 March 2015.  They began pre-alpha testing 4 September 2015.  That's less than 6 months from being funded to a playable pre-alpha.  I've taken part in 3 pre-alpha tests within the past two weeks and they've been great.  I'm very optimistic that this game will be complete before the end of 2016.

    If you want to see some gameplay footage from this month look up OberonCF on twitch.tv.  There testing again tomorrow, 18 January 2016, at 9 AM and again at 9 PM.  I'm sure he'll live stream both events.
