Dungeon loot system BE CAREFUL!!

So i accidentally bidded a high amount on an item that wasnt worth it...I know its my fault for not paying attention. With that said its a troll move that alot of players are doing to get you to over bid.  Watch out for this and dont make the same mistake i did.

For those that dont know.  The loot system uses an auction with your currency instead of a roll system.  You gotta pay money for your item.  Good in theory but very inviting for trolls. Lesson learned

playing: Dragon Age
Waiting: for FF14, Mass Effect
Want to try: Fallen Earth

Seems like the trolls would be broke pretty fast doing that lol Is it like everyone throws in one bid and that's it, or does the bidding keep going for a certain amount of time?

So I take it you've never been in a guild that uses blind bidding.  If you really want something you have to bid for it, otherwise someone else is gonna outbid you.  Of course, you may be the only one bidding on the item... but since you wanted it, it really shouldn't matter what you spent on it... you got it, that's all that matters.

Oh, btw, gear is meaningless until you're at max level.  Been true for every game since the assumption is, you're running around in quest gear.

you obviously havent played Blade and Soul with that "gear is meaningless until you're at max level" comment.

This loot system is, IMHO, the best I've seen yet.  There is actually an economic strategy behind this loot system.  I won't get into the particulars, but it plays really well for those who know how to take advantage of it.

no what happen is bid starts at 2c...then you can spam Bid bid bid bid bid like i did and it goest up in 1c increments. So i was planing to stop at around 50c for a purple soul shield from the 1st dungeon.  But i clicked one too many times it went from 40c to 5s 78c.  he then withdrew...and had to pay for it...left with 14c .  Its not the end of the world and iam not here complaining.  Its just a warning to not spam bid and pay attention or your mess up like me.  There was no reason for him to go from 40c up to 5s but hey its his money and he used it to get me , good for him

Actually it was good for the rest of the group as they were able to split the money you bid on the item. That's about 1s 20c for each group member.  Not a bad little haul for one item bid in the 1st dungeon :)

I appreciate the heads up OP, never encountered a system like this so information is always good.

Seems it could add to friction in group content which I do not see as a good idea.

I like their system since it makes it worth it for everyone else in the group if you really want something. Of course if you run with friends or guildmates and they know you want an item chances are you get it for 2c.
