its skill based, you gotta know your character skilsl and list of combos. and how to counter their attack for counter attack. lots of crap you gotta learn. how to gap close and dunk on them with your combo if you get close. its really fast, you spam your skills they will just dunk on you in 2 seconds flat.
if you dont know what the hell your doing and just spam all your skills at once, the skileld pvper woudl just combo you to death in matter of 2 to 5 seconds flat.
Wait this game is not skill bassed but mashing the skill button kind of game? Count me out. I wanted to play Blade and Soul, but now that i learned how the combat system is handled i wont play.

you... didn't actually read his 3 posts, did you? that's basically the exact oposite of what he said...
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
Sooo I got to lv20 and i'm KINDA enjoying the combat system... I've been doing some arena matches and, while i'm winning many, I mostly get paired with pl lvl 35+ that chainlock me to death
I'd say the game is VERY skill based. The combat is very fluid
BUT
you costantly have to keep an eye on your cooldowns, which means you're spending most of the time looking at the timers on your skillbars which can be very annoying. But that might just be experience.
The sad part is. This game is so CC heavy it's painful. It's all about getting a block on someone elses attacks and stunlock them for 5+ seconds. And ofc the opposite. You do one thing wrong (and there's so much countering going on that you will) and then you'll be stunlocked for 5+ seconds. You do have a few "get out of stun" cards but they're on long CDs To be honest I started the game enthusiastic of this combat system and at the moment I hate it. Hopefully leveling up I'll get some more tools to manage all of this crazy CC that's going on.
I only did 1v1, I really don't know how group pvp can be, you already spend half of the time being stunlocked in 1v1 I don't want to imagine in a 3v3, considering there's no diminish returns
My advice is... If you like fast paced mindfuck combat this can be really good, but it can also be very frustrating. You need catlike reflexes.
is the entire game just combat? any crafting , economy?
A few things I noticed about crafting so far (I am only level 21 /max is 45/):
You can join 2 crafting and 2 gathering guilds at the same time.
In gathering guilds you order a material you need and they deliver it to you after set amount of time (fastest order in guilds I joined takes 30 minutes).
There are also Water and Ore nodes around the world, that require specific tools to gather them. The spots of those nodes are visible on world map to anyone and after someone picks the node it takes a long time to respawn (couldnt find exact time).
Crafting guilds work in the same way as gathering guilds, you order the item you want and they deliver it after set amount of time. Depending on item they can use materials from gathering guilds, from nodes and also from different crafting guilds.
In each gathering and crafting guild you can only have 1 order running at the same time.
For me at the moment the entire crafting system looks very similiar to Garrison system in WoW (or the other way around since BnS was released in Korea earlier). You log in couple a times a day to pick up finished orders and start new ones.
I just hope it gets somehow better at higher levels.
As for economy, I cannot say how it will play out, it is less than week from release so I think it is too early to judge.
A lot of people don't like it because they want it more simple. In most games when you are stunned you just press 5. In this game 5 can be on cooldown so you need to use 6 or 9. Yea you definitely need to keep track of your cooldowns and don't make mistakes because this game punishes you for making mistakes. Its like real life if you miss the block then you get hit in the face and it hurts.
Combat is both very fast and tactical. To play well you need to be hitting buttons quickly, but it's far from empty button mashing. There is a lot of decision making about combos, CC, counters, and it happens very quickly. While I appreciated the design, it was just way too much work to enjoy. My hands would literally hurt after a couple hours. And while I'm not exactly old, I could certainly see that the gameplay is biased toward teens and 20s with lightning fast reflexes.
The game is hugely combat centered, not much in the way of non-combat activities atm. Not sure how this will change in the future, but the KR version should give some insight on that.
A very short and to the point summary. Game is fairly forgiving early on with the classes. As you level your class more the game expects you to have a better grasp of your class, and requires less mistakes. Button mashing will get you killed in short order, in both PvE and PvP.
In War - Victory. In Peace - Vigilance. In Death - Sacrifice.

PVP on the other hand is where skill matters. You have to know your sh1t in pvp or you will get rolled hard.
