i must be the only one that likes the combat system, i play a standard blade master and love the resource building/consumer system combined with the combo system and the way you can even specialise and make your own builds...
There is one sad thing however, combat against basic ennemies is so short you cane one trick pony trough it witouth any real challenge...
but the system(mechanic) is probably the best i have seen in any action based MMORPG.. Its fluent, its reactive, its fun...

Combat is the only good part of this game.
Well it's a good thing that the vast majority of content in MMO's requires combat.

Hey there fella', tell that to all my 60 crafts in FF.
"I must be the only one" What makes you say? Every single person says that's the selling point of the game
Most people dont give the game the time to get there where combat becomes interesting, they left long before that moment..
True, like other poster said, when you start unlocking more combat customization and dodging in all directions the combat gets waaaaaay better than it already is.
I have to say, after playing Black Desert beta and B&S now, saying that something like Tera has true action combat is an insult to action combat.

Hah. Are you talking about XI or XIV? Facing east whilst wearing underwear on Windsday, pressing a button, and then praying your synth doesn't blow up wasn't exactly good content. The crafting in XIV is great, I admit, but it's still a tiny fraction of the game in comparison to combat.
I just wish B&S wasn't so damned dependent on ping.

Maybe that's why I play more MOBAs and single player games than MMORPGs these days.
Never could find that MMORPG whose combat system was even in the same league of small-team multiplayer or single player games. It's like those smaller MP and single player games have some kind of inherent advantage that makes crafting interesting combat systems easier... Or something.

It's a shame that majority of those crafts are worthless because the content is all raiding.
PvE becomes more of a challenge around lvl 40+. At max level it can get difficult to stay alive, blackram supply is tough (not crazy hard though). The dread arena (pve arena) last boss is real tough.
Mushin tower is also coming out soon enough.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile
Gonna be honest, if it wasn't for its combat, the game would barely be acknowledged. This is the sole reason I'm playing. Give the smoothness of this combat system to Tera/Archeage/Wildstar or any other recent MMOs out there and I'll leave this any day :c

Totally agree. I was so put off by the first few minutes of this game I didn't ever want to log back into it.
I miss the days of MMOs that dropped you into a small corner of an engaging world without a bunch of bullshit fetch quests and "story" forced on you the first second you log in. I want to actually play the game, not be forced to skip and click past bullshit.
And I can definitely see the combat and build system having promise, but getting to that point is a huge turn off.
What happened to this genre...
Would love to see that, you ended up in a cave, cant remember anything... First objective get out of the cave and stay alive... And since you have no respawnnpoint set, if you die, game over start again..
now you need to figure out what to do.. Tutorials are overrated... Espescially with all the veteran MMO players around, they are killing early game experience...
Story, is an awesome thing, as long as it is not the only driver in a game...
Quests are fun, as long as they are challenging and dont give it all away...
Rewards are sweet, but dieing is sour...
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
