You should be salvaging everything. No reason to keep anything really. When you find a soul shield you want get all the pieces and upgrade. other than that you should be funneling everything into your items to upgrade or throw them in the bank till you get the upgrade piece.
Cash shop stinks and is super expensive, though from what i see most of the costumes you can just get by leveling up, cept the cat ones you have to buy those.
Im just sad that the classes im most interested in, Summoner and Blade Dancer, are race locked to the Lyn which im least interested in. Though it might not keep my interest long enough to try the warlock out.
You will get a very limited number of dragon trade pouches from questing which are used to expand inventory (personal and bank) but they are not enough to max them out. Some of the initial rows in the bank cost in game money but not much.
I have not reached max level (very close) so there might be more dragon trade pouches but I cant see there being enough to make out.
From what I have seen you have to buy them from the cash shop using either NC Coin of Hongmoon Coins. Hongmoon coins can be earn in game but I do not remember how.
It's designed to inconvenience players much more than GW2.
Disagree with that opinion - most stuff you do not have to keep in this game and there is not literally 10 million different crap items filling your bags constantly like GW2. Also, you can't really compare as GW2 is not truely free, contrary to what people say. GW2 F2P is an elaborate extended trial, nothing more.
You know, I only clicked on this thread because of the word inconvenienced was used in reference to GW2... What game makes inventory easier than GW2? you have every crafting item in the game stored separately, and each has a pretty big stack. Hell, you can deposit them while you are away from the bank.
Seriously, if there is a game MMO players use as an example of how some other game's inventory should be, it usually ends up being GW2.
Yes, you have to buy bank space. No, the game does not run on warm thoughts and small children's frustrations. It needs money. Give it some.
'Sandbox MMO' is a PTSD trigger word for anyone who has the experience to know that anonymous players invariably use a 'sandbox' in the same manner a housecat does.

I ask because I assume nexon is involved in some way. does it have worthless items like tonics that drop constantly and do all the characters have to share the same bank?
Why is it that when people in this forum who openly admit they like a game, never ever experience any issues......ever? And people who openly admit they don't like a game, can never ever have anything function the way it's supposed to.......ever?
Wouldn't it be easier to just create a thread listing all the features and bugs/issues in a single list, and under than just create a poll that says:
[ ] Yes I like the game
[ ] No I don't like the game.
This would save a lot of people time in expressing things everyone already knows. There's no need to defend or accuse. It's all listed and everyone's stance is covered by the Y/N poll.
The mechanic of limiting space is a good one. For some games that have crafting and trade, it forces people to pump items into the economy. Also, one of the aspects that I enjoy is space management. I know it's probably not up there for most people, but I enjoy having to strategize on what to keep and not to keep.

I was assuming that we were comparing it to someone who's bought GW2.
If you're not ready to buy the game box, then GW2 is likely more inconvenient, but once you buy the game then I think in GW2 is a lot less inconvenient to play without cash shop.
I'm still trying to figure out why the GW2 slam. Yeah, GW2 bank space wasn't the most efficient I've ever seen in an MMORPG. But given the business model was announced long before the game launched, I want to know why this was a surprise to anyone. They gave you the game. The didn't give you absolutely no reason under any circumstances to never ever need or want to spend another dime on the game.
Yeah, you can buy added bank space.....and I did.........and I didn't bitch about it.
TLDR; Paying for added inventory in GW2 never struck me as a greedy cash grab.
I've only ran into the bag problem a couple times. But I wasn't salvaging enough and i was hording a lot of items.
Also, There is a secondary tab in your stash specifically for crafting materials. I use the primary to store items I can use as offerings if a piece of my gear is maxed and I'm waiting on a piece I need to continue.
Other than that, It feels pretty much on par with GW2. Other than the optional sub. I'm already level 35 and the game hasn't been out very long. Current max is 35, and I haven't spent a penny on the game yet.

Actually there are 10 million crap items filling your bags constantly. Soul shield parts or whatever the fuck they are called.
do they give us limited bag and bank space in order to sell things from the cash shop? or is the cash shop simply cosmetic?
if it's an inconvenience to not be able to hold everything in your inventory then maybe you have a hoarding problem. 100 slots in GW2 is storage for a ton of junk. If you need more you deserve to have to pay for it. It's insane how much storage space people want to pack around on their character.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

I could agree with you but there's definitely a monetary incentive for you to use the cash shop.
I'm level 22 and starting to feel the strain on space. And no you can't just salvage everything- there's tons of items you need to upgrade stuff.
I don't necessarily blame them- the game is f2p and they have to make money somehow. As long as it's doable I'm ok with being a little strained on space.
EDIT: Just figured out tonight that there's a 2nd free vault bank tab. That means I have plenty of space so, so far, this space thing isn't an issue at all.

my issue is more with gw2 bank system. all my characters share a bank. and they all share a crafting bank. which in very short time is full unless I spend a lot of gold or spend 5 or so dollars on gems. it wasn't like that (gw2) in the beta events leading up to live. they inconvenience players (imo) in order to make money. it's great that all my guys share a bank. it's easy inventory management. but the space is quite limited considering the amount of junk they throw at you.
$10 gets you 20 pouches, which frees up a good amount of space for max level. If you craft you may need more, but yeah you should be salvaging/selling stuff along the way.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile
Guild Wars 2 is designed to inconvenience players? Could have fooled me. I always thought ArenaNet tried much harder to make their games convenient than most other MMORPG developers. So I'm going to answer this question with "no", without needing to know anything about Blade and Soul.

There is nothing 'Inconvenient' in GW2. You can craft 20 slot bags and use up to 4. It is not a big deal.
GW2 is not as bad as AA, TERA, etc. or is it because the former games are under the umbrella of NCSoft?
Hording is a personal problem, not a game design problem.
