I am looking forward to this game as an old DAOC-junkie. I love the classes and how they have different classes for the different realms.
I am worried though that the game won´t be fun in the long run since it is PVP only. In DAOC all I did was PVPing in a gank group when I hit max level. When that got too tedious I start working on an alt. But in Warhammer I noticed that I needed my PVE-fix as well. Especially when one realm was too dominant as it was on our server. The enemy had three times our numbers and I know sneaking off to PVE when that is happening is not the way to solve the problem but I found that more fun to do than to lose and lose and lose.
In this game I am afraid that the losing realm or realms will just log off and perhaps not come back. Or re-roll on the winning side. Too early to say of course but that is my worries. I know we have three realms and that the two losing might help each other out. Not sure about that though. We'll see I guess.

@lindhsky I'm much more of a Warhammer junkie, but I agree (unlike, I'd say, great majority here) that PvE is important in the long run. On the other hand, it's not like we won't have any.

Oh good news! Didn't know that. I know crafters and people that hated PVP that wanted to make a raid in the frontier because they wanted DF. So that is indeed good news.

@lindhsky Maybe I should, just in case, give you TL:DR of that PvE article: NO quests, NO leveling by endlessly killing mobs, NO PvE endgame raids - and besides that, pretty much everything else PvEwise.
Now, since majority of folks considers PvE grind & quests & endgame PvE dungeons to be the very definition of PvE, it's common here to say, shortly, that CU "will not have PvE". If you are interested in details, you can check that link upthere.
@karnivor There is a number of things I dislike about CU, but I wouldn't let something like that distract me from playing. Say, I was annoyed by Gnome Warriors in WoW - still I enjoyed it for years, no matter the little abominations.
male valkyries? wow what a joke. Im officially off the bandwagon.
I'm not off the bandwagon, but to be honest I thought the same thing when I saw the male valks. I know there is this thing among Western gamers about having no gender locks, but male Valkyries? Its like saying a cat is a dog or something, very weird.
Btw, those shots of CUBE look great, is it hard to work with like Landmark, or is it similar to minecraft in its ease of use?
Preparing for Beta!? Here's the text of that vine: "Improved light in Camelot Unchained [2/6]. L=new/R=old. Buildings user-made in game by Necromaniak."
You are welcome folks! While I'm here, this is some recent early destruction footage (don't worry, the animations and textures are far from final - including falling rubble to be added etc.):
The world in CU is not supposed to literally be our world back during the dark ages like was the case in DAOC. A race like Valkyrie is not literally the Valkyries from Norse mythology but is instead the memory of tales of Valkyries combined with Veil magic to transform people into a new race. It therefore is not a huge violation of lore for there to be male Valkyries, male Bean Sidhes, etc.
There used to be a place on the official CU site to sign up to receive the newsletter by email, but I don't see an obvious link for that on the new version of the site that launched a few weeks ago. I will mention that on the official forums.

Other games will have to comfort themselves trying to win in some minor categories, such as "GotY" or "Most Anticipated".

For what it's worth - The Depths (aka Darkness Falls on steroids), PvE, Realm Balance, Realm Pride.

Edit: This was misinformation from CU reddit, the new website is actually still work in progress (and should be revealed quite soon).
That's like the equivalent of a male saying he's a lesbian. It's just not correct in any way possible.
Unfortunately things like this bother me too much. That's a shame as I was looking forward to this game.
PS Newsletter 18 is out!

Also, here's couple new pics - CU on Instagram
