i just cant believe they dont know that Lithuania is not russia. Lithuania is in Europe Union, Nato and so on. and still assigned to fucking russia.

It has more to do with geographic server locations than geographic country locations. Simply put, Lithuania is likely thousands of miles closer to the russia server than the euro one.

It makes no sense. I can  get a very fast connection to Tallinn from Western Europe. 52ms ping and 190Mbit.

Also, it's simply stupid how these countries can't decide which server to play on.

Servers should never be assigned, players should be allowed to choose where they play, and who they play with.  If you cannot play a game with family, friends, and guildies regardless of where you are physically located at the time , you should find  a game you can. The point of playing multiplayer games is to play with people you enjoy playing with.  People are stationed all over the world, have to work all over the world,  and are stuck in places all over the world and the great thing about online games is it allows you to be " home" no matter where you are stuck at the time. Whether it be on a military base or in a hospital, you can play with friends and family on games to take you away from the current predicament you find yourself in. Removing a players ability to play with their their friends, family, and guildies removes the desire to play that game at all for the many that primarily choose to play games for that reason.

My first major guild was created on campus at University of Texas in Austin, we play with real people and even though many of them moved all over the world by now, we STILL play together on our games due to the ability to choose where we play. Games that remove that ability make it so players who have been playing together for years on other games cannot play that game together. Many large guilds hop from game to game playing together,  one of my most active guilds right now has players from Saudi Arabia, California, Australia,  Singapore,  Texas, Canada, Brazil, UK, Hong Kong, France, Norway and more .. all on the same team. If we could not play on the same team, that is hundreds of players you just told you do not want playing your game.

That is just one guild.. there are millions of guilds with the same issues they will be turning away.

Yeah, that sucks. I was recently reminded that a friend who lives near Russia, is among those screwed ones who won't be able to come play on the EU or US servers. :(

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

Guys, if you want to discuss server placement and assignment, that's fine, but let's not get hateful against particular nations while doing so. Removing posts and content to that effect.
