Quick review of endgame

I've been playing this game for a few weeks now, and every day I spend a whole lot of hours playing it without getting bored.

"Not boring" may not sound exactly like a ringing endorsement of this game or it's endgame, but I usually get bored at MMO endgames.

The various activities available have enough variety in this game to keep me interested- time flies by.  I often start playing, figuring I'll just play for a little bit, but then next thing I know, 5 hours have gone by.

Here's the stuff I do pretty much every day:

1. Faction dailies- These are pve dailies in a contested zone.  You may or may not encounter some mild OWPVP, which is nice because it shakes things up a bit.

2. Dungeon dailies- the two harder dungeons have instances that you can just run around in solo or in a group and complete your dailies for them.  This is really nice because it gives you a preview of what a 6-man or 4-man run would be like, and it's also a super-casual way to complete these dungeons.

There are 4 other dungeons that you can queue for that are pretty easy.  Nice casual group dungeon runs.

3. Mushin's Tower (floors 1-7 currently)- a really cool solo instance where you fight a different boss on each floor with increasing difficulty.

4. PVP dailies- I really suck at PVP in this game.  I love the combat system but it's intimidating.  It's taking awhile to get to the point where I play it often, but I do the dailies now and can see myself playing Arena A LOT in the future as I get better.

Update: People are starting to give up fights against me in PVP.  Spent awhile reading guides and watching twitch people play my class.

Tons of room to grow from here, though (being able to land the full assassin combo for example...).

Hardcore stuff available that I'm not doing:

4-man versions of the hardest dungeons.  So far I'm enjoying the casual aspect of the game but eventually I'll probably get into these as well.

Blackwyrm- a huge world boss that takes like 50 people to kill.  I've tried this a couple times but my computer just can't handle it even at the lowest settings.  This is probably the only content I won't be doing.

***

My favorite thing is the PVE is pretty casual, but engaging enough to be enjoyed.  Whenever I want a hardcore challenge, all I have to do is queue for PVP and really test my skills.

This mix of casual/hardcore is really innovative and cool and it's really enjoyable to play.

Since this is a review I must give the endgame a score- I give it 5.2 (out of 6).

Don't be too intimidated by PvP, many many people have been playing this for years already over here in NA. Many more play classes that even in the hands of a rookie BnS player can destroy the average player of other classes... (looking at you summoner)

To top if off, most of the playerbase who at least attempted PvP but found out they sucked, have since left the game. Much of my early wins were against people trying out the game. Therefore Arena at this point is those who are dedicated PvPers. I barely crest gold, but I see improvements in myself everyday. Also, find a build that works for YOU. If you are having trouble against a certain class, look for builds online that may be more effective on that class.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

Yeah actually I got a bit better since writing the OP.  Watching twitch streams and reading guides has helped.  I still have a lot to work on but I don't feel clueless about what's going on anymore.

Two people quit on my matches after I won the first round today so that's a big improvement and an ego boost :).

Every MMO I've played has been that way at endgame.  The difference is I'm not getting bored by this game's endgame.  That's why it was my first line in the review- I'm not getting bored.  It may not seem very impressive but to me it is as far as MMO endgames go.

Your mileage may vary though and you may get bored, though.

I am looking forward to BDO and more of a sandboxy endgame, but with any MMO, there's going to be a limited amount of stuff to do at endgame.  It just matters if you enjoy it or not.

To me the best part of Blade and Soul's endgame is the PVP.  It seems no matter how long you play, there will always be room to improve.

Even if I probably will move onto other MMOs for PVE or other kinds of PVP, there's a good chance Blade and Soul will remain on my desktop for the PVP for years to come.

Just like in any MMO they allrdy had  a  content patch 2 weeks after launch that is actually pretty good.

And then when you get bored of doing that you'll be looking for the next thing. That's the nature of these games.
