i have been a member of perfect world off and on from beta.until 3 months ago i quit for good it is a money pit with endless problems
    Pros
    has great potential
    new areas
new races introduced every few years
nice music themes in different areas and dungeons
special editing for your avatar in the files
    cons
old glitchs still not fixed-new content added even more glitchs
    broken quests
cash shopping is a must for end game gear and the reputation needed for end game gear about 1,500 usd
every thing is claimed to be rare or limited but sold and won regularly
    alot of account hacking
alot of scamming items and ingame coins
alot of stalking and cyber harrassment
alot of filthy language in forms of sexual innuendoes along with offers of incounters on world chat-inappropriate for children
    reported players are never banned
gold bots spam world chats and your personal mail via ingame
certain things are very over sized and over bright and super glowy some players get headaches
contests that exclude parts of the united states-even though it is a united states based contest
no way to make ingame coins for repairs "repairs are really expensive" and telleports for quest travels
nation wars exclude lower level players.. only level 100+ may inter the arena-including new members to the game-rewards for nation wars are
nation war tokens-used to upgrade end game gear into over powered end game gear
war avatar cards-the war avatar cards have to be with items from the cash shop
10 items from the cash shop at 20 gold for a CHANCE to have a good war avatar card
and 10 items per level to use war avatar cards max level at the moment level 3,level 1=10 cash shop items , level 2 = 20 cash shop items, level 3= 30 cash shop items
star charts need cash shopping to buy items to upgrade your star chart 3 gold per 1 try
no way to remove and keep end game gem stones from armor or move the gem stones to new better armor
special prize packs - to recieve end game gems and gear extremely low chances sold in cash shop
there are no game masters in the game when you ask for help you submit a ticket and get an auto reply and 9/10 the problem is never fixed or addressed
all in all i expected this MMO to get better over the years.and i wasted alot of time and money trying to keep up with all the gear , repairs and war avatar cards star charts ect.. that it wasnt worth the hussle and bustle in the end

Asian game design philosophies don't mesh with me.  Haven't liked a single one yet, but I keep trying them anyway, including this one.  I wouldn't consider going back to this game unless they revamped it into a subscription business model with no and I mean NO cash shop.  Even if I liked one of their games, the stupidly expensive and obtrusive F2P design is a no go for me.

Why would anyone play a very dated, shallow, not well localized, hack and slash MMO from a company known for P2W scams and shit customer service?

    And why even "advertise" this?

I'm glad to see the game still active and going strong, even if it's not my cup of tea.  I tried it many years ago and enjoyed it for two or three weeks.  It was my first Asian mmorpg so I enjoyed the different lore and visual style.  Character creation had tons of options.  Unfortunately at lower levels there was only one set of level-appropriate armor to wear so the uniqueness was largely lost.  Then I saw high level characters running around in modern clothing (bikinis and tuxedos) which they bought in the cash shop.  I think I even saw someone on a motorcycle who was dressed like Elvis.  That broke my immersion beyond repair.

This game is like a hamster wheel, taking years, doing the same quests over and over to raise the levels of all your skills, boundaries and equipment. The alternative is to sink thousands upon thousands of dollars into the game to buy the more elite gear and items to level more quickly. It is no surprise that items to allow individuals to automatically level their character are made available at a very high cost. It is 100% Pay2Win.

It has a very elitist culture. With PWE constantly removing the ability for individuals to be able to get squads, due to inferior equipment, they make it more difficult for struggling players by removing items from being able to be earned from a solo endeavour making it very difficult to progress in this game. Other players constantly ask that you show your weapon before granting you an invitation to a squad.
Items that were previously able to be earned through tasks in game are removed and put into the cash shop on a regular basis. This can make it difficult or more likely impossible to be able to improve your gear or abilities without paying real world money, when coming late to the game, due to established players having been able to acquire it more easily.

Many elite players have confessed to spending between $5,000 and $15,000 to be able to compete within PvP. PvP has become incredibly unbalanced, with characters that are over powered able to take out characters that were originally designed as tanks in game with a single blow.

The company has been mismanaging its games for many years now. This has been reflected in the great many lay offs of employees in the company, the rapid decline in its share prices and the closing of many of its divisions. Servers have been merged many times over the years, with only one quarter of the servers remaining now, due to only having one eighth of the population they once had. It is estimated that many of the games that PWE support won't last more than 2 to 3 years, so investing time or money in their games would be a complete waste.

I have played this game for 9 years and have seen it go from being one of the greatest MMO’s to the mess that it is now. I more than anyone would love to see someone come on board with the courage to do what is necessary to turn this game around. I had many family and friends that used to play this game, that have all quit and never anticipate returning. Although I loved playing this game, even I can’t encourage others to play this game with a clear conscience.

Don't be mislead by individuals that lie and tell you that elite gear can be easily obtained for free, they have an ulterior motive. The population of this game is dying at an incredible rate and those that have spent countless hours and thousands of dollars will do anything to keep it alive, even trying to encourage others to join by feeding them lies about how simple it is to not spend money and achieve high level gear and abilities. Unless your idea of a great weekend is being constantly one shot by these individuals, I would highly advise trying another game. Unfortunately greed and selfishness dominate this game.

Other games that won't have your bank manager calling you in a hysteric and allow you to compete on a more even playing field more quickly would be "Tera" or "Elder Scrolls Online".
