Are they working on anything (AC3 anyone)? Have they announced what they are doing or are they content with the games they have?

I remember reading how Turbine was trying to encourage private servers for AC in anticipation of shutting down official servers for the game.  As far as I know this game is still going and there remain official servers.  I tend to think one day some business guy will look at Turbine and say, " Why are we still supporting servers for this game?"

I thought they were also trying to make some sort of console game but they stopped its development.

Other than what they have, I don't really see Turbine doing a lot more other than supporting their games. I don't think the purchase by Warner Brothers really did them any favors.

Not really meaning just AC franchise but what are they doing as a company. Are they working on anything that is new.

I was trying to find the article where one of the employees (former employee?) gave a run down of some of the problems that Turbine had. I can't seem to find it but I ended up at GlassDoor.com and it seems that some of the employess stated that there is a move to mobile games.

So there you go OP, they are in the process of moving to mobile games.

In the future, in general, don't use GlassDoor as a referance for "Anything" gaming related, it's known throughout the gaming community that, people will often create false identities and false reviews of workplaces they don't like.

Take for instance, shady reviews of Chris Roberts's company and their creation of Star Citizen, where several false reviews were made of his company all within some few hours, giving it negative reviews, all of which was false and then used as source material in articles in an attempt to tarnish SC's image.

That's just one example, for the gaming industry, you shouldn't exactly refer too much to that website as it's a place internet trolls lurk.

So it is almost the same thing as this site?

To be more precise, if several employees mention something that is not negative, but just a point of note, then it can at least be looked at with some merit.

Of course anyone can go to glassdoor.com and complain, I get that.

But I'm not talking about negative or positive reviews. At all. I am pointing out that several people mentioned something about their projects. Of course, one can say "well maybe someone made multiple accounts so that they could mention "mobile gaming' but I actually doubt that. I think more people would be making multiple accounts to review poorly or positively

I don't think Turbine has ever had  much of a hand in what they are doing, they tend to if not always build  games on behalf of someone else.
Straight up i am not a big fan of their work but of course working for someone else has limitations.Just loo kat what happened when NCSOFT got a hold of Tabula Rasa they instantly released a product that was not ready to be released and changed some of it's core design.
Asheron's call was ok for it's time but i believe they had Microsoft helping them out?
I am interested to see how they do with this new Batman game,i thought Arkham Knight was of high quality but of course ran like crap.

I guess i just answered the question, they are working on a new Batman game.I do not think they can surpass Arkham knight but lets see if they can prove me wrong and become a Triple  A developer.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

According to an IGN thing I found, the Batman game is a mobile game and they seem to be working on a Game of Thrones mobile game.

I think the DC MOBA they made was very damaging to their future.

I'd like to think a game as rich in lore as AC wouldn't go to waste. But there have been tons of successful games in the past that have never been remade or received a sequel.

Many of the creatures in AC are unique and not found in typical fantasy games. I also liked that in the beginning, humans were the only playable characters.

I would love to see another Asherons Call 3. I don't think they are working on anything related to Asherons Call franchise. Warner Bros owns the franchise now. There is no more Turbine.

Same here, I'd pay $15 a month and $60 for the game if they made an AC 3 and did it right.

I would pay full hundred bucks and 20 dollars a month if they created a new Asherons Call. It was the best MMORPG ever created, in my opinion.

I would also pay this and probably more if the game was done alot like AC1. But as much as i wish for the " perfect " AC3 i know it wont ever happen ( unless i win some massive lottery and make it myself ), companies dont put the effort into these games anymore like they did back in those days of AC1.

The fact we got monthly updates that added content every single month was just amazing and really felt like my 12$ a month was going towards something.  but i imagine now turbine is probably a shell of what it once was, back then it was gamers making a game THEY wanted to play, not just make a ton of money then toss in the F2P and move on to the next project.

I bet the rights to AC will be sold off and transferred around several times over the next decade. Eventually it will be sold to a small company that will try to crowdfund a sequel.

WB is only interested in "safe" games with major brand tie-ins.

AC2 was where they went wrong, but that engine did lead to LOTRO. But yep I would pay for a AC3 done the right way and that means make it like AC but better.
I'm not perfect but I'm always myself!

True about using glass door as a primary source, however as a tertiary source it's ok
From Turbines own linked in page:
    "About Turbine
Turbine, Inc. is a premier creator and operator of connected entertainment experiences. Founded in 1994 and wholly owned by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Inc. Turbine develops hit games based on some of the world’s most popular and iconic properties including The Lord of the Rings™, Dungeons & Dragons™ and DC Comics™. Turbine is currently in development on several new titles for the mobile platform, the first of which is Batman: Arkham Underworld, a new super-villain based combat strategy game. For more information on Turbine, its products and services please visit www.turbine.com."
Other than older games in stable the only publicy released info revolves around mobil (was MOBA before but IC killed that idea)

Also a quick google search :-1:
    http://www.mmogames.com/gamenews/turbine-turns-mobile-gaming/
    EDIT:
As far as an AC3 if Current Turbine does it, no way in hell would I touch it with some one elses 10 foot pole.  If they hired back the personnel they layed off over the years who actually delivered marketable products then perhaps.  Or those same individuals under a different label.   Current Turbine capabilities leave something to be desired when it's been almost a decade since they successfully delivered anything to market.  That's a lot of rust there.

When the last game you successfully made listed XP as a min req, I doubt you'll do great things today.  Just look at all the fun they are having with their LOTRO server migration.  Modern server hardware/control software + the experience on hand = fun for all.  x64 takes different knowledge experience than x32...whoda thunk it?

With this market how tuff it is to make your money back as a sub game. It's will be a hard sell to investor to throw down there money maybe see a profit in about 8 to 10 years as a sub model. It's just people are picky if it does not look as good does not have all the system people want they leave in mass. MMO are not cheap to make if people hold up a flame to the game if they don't like it then hey will burn it.

I would like see AC3 or AC1 with a new engine or even AC2 rebuild but I think turbine don't see worth there time to do anything with it much.
