I played vanilla; left before BC (change continent again). Checked back in around 5.1 to 5.3; still a solid game although it was showing its age in part. After several more xpacs? Doubt it the gut wrencing changes they make to classes don't sit well.
Nah, i doubt it. Even if im bored and there is literally nothing else to play at the time and I get "MMO withdrawl" id prefer to just hop back into FFXIV instead. There is really nothing in Legion that doesnt say its the same old sh*t with a different theme.

I disagree with you. Legion will introduce leveling in the style of Guild Wars 2.
I presume that if this is a success, that style of leveling will be introduced to the rest of Azeroth.
It's the 'small' things like this that can make a big difference.
For example, there are certain areas that I really enjoy leveling in, and certain areas I really hate with a passion.
By introducing Guild Wars 2 style leveling, I'm more likely to want to level more than just my main character.
Suddenly, Blizzard have increased my likely subscription time by maybe 4 times! So that doubles the profit they are going to make from me.
Well I finally did it and bought Legion. Started a new character for the heck of it and will hit 30 tomorrow. Have to say am enjoying myself playing both WoW and FFXIV. More than likely I will be playing WoW for awhile and be waiting patiently for the next good game.
Because of garrisons(worst housing implementation ever rofl) and dungeons being useless for progression, I've stopped playing WoD right from the beginning and decided to find a new substitute for wow. But, after trying so many mmos in one year, I have to say that, apart from FFXIV, there is no mmo out there which competes with wow, specially in terms of class gameplay (Imo). So yea, even if the expansion is as crap as WoD, new lore and new classes gameplay (and dungeons being relevant once again) will be enough to make me have atleast 2 solid months of fun .

I really want to go back to my fire mage character, even though I know this will be tricky.
WoW xpac released: No one is talking, everyone has purchased it and is playing it like mad.
3-6 Months post xpac: "Sure I added another 1000 hours of /played, but I hated it, WoW is suxors!"
Repeat.
