Why do some games on this website not have forums?

Some games (such as Perpetuum, Darkfall: New Dawn, Darkfall: Rise of Agon) don't have forums on this website. Why is this?

The upcoming Darkfall re-releases would benefit because communication is a good thing.

Older games, such as Perpetuum, should benefit - particularly when new content is added.

The new forums system only allow us so many, so we have to prioritize. If you want a specific game to have one, best bet is to email @mikeb and request it. I agree on the Darkfall games. Maybe one forum with two sub-forums for each game.

Do sub-forums count toward the limit on how many forums this site can have?  Or could you have a few main forums with a zillion sub-forums?

Perpetuum... wow, haven't heard anyone mutter the name of that game in years.  Checked the web site again and, yep, still the same 25 "mechs" that they had at release.

Unfortunately it had a group of players that got entirely too close to the developers, and then proceeded to abuse that relationship.  Before long these people owned the game unopposed.

I just checked the forums and yep, that same group of people are still posting regularly.  Ville, Annihilator, Jita, Celebro... ect.  Game is still broken if they're around IMO.

I guess the fee for the service is influenced by the number of forums/subforums, so its a cost issue.

Weird "upgrade" in that its the first time I've ever seen a downgrade in service, features and functionality.

Not sure what the upsides really were.

Hmm, sort of like modern MMOs, so perhaps its only fitting.

Yes, they count. And we are working on allowing our forums to scale with as many forums as we need. In the meantime, we have to prioritize. I'll look into the Darkfall situation.

It would be excellent if every MMORPG had a forum on this website.

This is because MMORPG.com is the definitive information source for MMORPGs. It's got a reputation to live up to.
