IS THE DIVISION WORTH BUYING?

anlisathanlisath Member UncommonPosts: 9
The Division is a new creation from Ubisoft, guys behind Assassins Creed and Saint's Row. Is it any good? I spent already 10 hours in the game and you can hear what I found out in my video!:)

If you value the box price to be good enough for short term entertainment. The only thing this game has going for it that might extend its longevity is its multi platform approach.

It has yet to be seen though since it's too early how much content and features Ubisoft will be pumping into their game over the months/year.

nope the game is crap really crap. buggy and messy controls. and far to easy. even hard or challenger mode. Far to easy. if i did not receive it for free. i would never buy it. cause its utterly crap.
60$ not worth it more like 10$

I gave in because literally every single person on my Xbox friends list was playing it...

Level 17 and roughly 20 hours in maybe? It's enjoyable.

I worry about running out of content. Not really sure how interested I am in the Dark Zone, still need to try that out.

But I've been completing all of the zones, well not every piece of intel but all the side missions and encounters etc.

So we'll see if/when I finish all of the story content what else is there to keep me coming back for more outside of the DZ.

The gunplay/movement and such is simple, and can be kind of frustrating, but I like the RPG layers and way stats/perks/mods etc. interact.

The overall structure is working for me, very little loading, feels sufficiently open and vast, yet uses the space well.

I'm not regretting my peer-pressure purchase yet!

My thoughts exactly but I have high hopes they will keep the game entertaining!

It is pretty but very boring; at least if you play alone.

That's why I use matchmaking for every mission. Also I go always hard difficulty cause honestly it's more fun this way I think. Keeps the game fun for me!

Took me about 30 hours to finish the story missions and leveling up. Guess its now the eternal gear grind or PvP in the dark zone.

If you like co-op or have friends you enjoy playing with, the dark zone pvp is very fun.  You can have 4 people in your group.  This is where the game really shines.

The dark zone is like an open world sandbox type zone.  It is fun for roaming.  Groups roam for some pvp action.

The single player aspect of the game is solid, but much more challenging than playing with others.  I bet you could do all the pve in less than 80 hrs or so depending on how fast you level.  So the longevity of the game is in the dark zone pvp with others.

The main missions you can complete with groups with the matchmaking they provide.  The matchmaking is pretty fast.

I am level 19, dark zone level 25.5, with 50 hrs played.  Both levels are capped at 30.  If you playing with a friend and don't want to out level them you can just go play in the dark zone till they are online.

When I am playing, I am sometimes reminded of assassins creed.

The controls are smooth feeling, and the graphics are nice.

Anyone can pick up and play, however it seems like it takes a long time to master.

I enjoyed the Open Beta. It is a better version of Destiny (2.0?). I want to play the game for the setting but because it is Destiny all over again I have not purchased it. I do not want Destiny to become the new WoW that everyone wants to copy. At least WoW had a lot of content to choose from when copying it.

The Hard Mode missions to me are more fun when I am playing solo, because it makes me more tactical and at the end feel more bad ass.  And I am talking about missions past level 15.  But I am at about 60 hours level 25 with half the PvE map completed, and havent explored most of Dark Zone yet just the three lower zones and havent gone under ground yet where you need mask filter level 4 to enter and survive.  The rogue division agent bosses can use the same skills against you and hack your turrets, that was a fun fight.

Cant wait to do the missions on Challenging Mode where you actually need a group.

It really feels nothing like Destiny which I both love and hate about the Division, because I both love and hate Destiny.

I love how NYC feels like a place, a connected, integrated place in the Division, their level design and way you transition in/out of areas and missions with minimal loading is fantastic.

I'm enjoying "completing" the different areas before I move on to the next. Main missions are fun with friends, but also fun to PUG and the matchmaking system is painless.

I'm not in a rush to hit 30, mostly because I'm more of a PVE player so my future will be daily/weekly missions and challenge missions, but I'm 22 so I'm getting there.

My biggest problem now is trying to decide if I should hoard all of my $ and crafting materials for 30 or spend some dough and resources to keep my gear up to date as I level.

Nothing has really been super "hard" and I've gotten fairly good drops.

I'll be looking forward to see what kind of end-game content they add over the next few months.

The one thing Destiny has that the Division REALLY needs something similar to is raids. Raids, especially early on with Vault of Glass, really make Destiny special and got me hooked for the next year+.

Division needs a similar "hook" IMO for PvE focused players.

From what I hear there really isnt any pvp in the darkzone because going rogue and getting killed can delevel your dark zone rating, which i believe you need to buy higher level recipes from DZ vendors. Ive heard you can lose like 2 levels from getting killed once after going rogue. No one wants to risk it.

This game is NOTHING like Destiny, stop comparing it to that crap game.  Anyway, I love the game, it's well worth the price.  I suggest getting the $40 season pass as we're getting a heaping ton of content in the next 8 months.  April is already going to add to the longevity with player trading and "incursions", the Division's name for a raid/dungeon.  So, basically more PVE.

I've been playing solo, doing the story and side missions and collectables, taking my time, really enjoying how each fight can be quite dynamic and how well built the customization of my character is with many choices to pick from.  Will be even better when I join people later after I've gotten my fair share of playing solo.

Is it worth buying you ask?

    1. If you want to PvE...Yes!
    2. If you want to PvP... No!

Check all the reviews thou before you buy it.

For that future 'content' and features though, you need to also get the season pass, buying the game without it, doesn't give you access to future events etc.
But its worth trying the game out before investing in the season pass, if you like the game enough, get the season pass, if you don't like it enough to stay with it for more than a month or two, or less even, then you saved money not getting the season pass.

Guess it depends.  I've played a lot on Xbox1 and a lot of people go rogue... but more importantly I've gone rogue myself quite a few times and survived to tell the tale.  Players aren't the most dangerous thing in the darkzone.. and you can start getting purple drops as early as 15.  At the high end most people won't go rogue obviously, but there are times when going rogue is fun and will get you the loot you want.
