I’ve been a bit apprehensive of The Division given all the delays, rumors, and Ubisoft’s not so hot track record. However, after having put some time into the open beta, I decided to roll the dice and take a chance.

Still as I mentioned few times. Game The Divission if you take story mode aside is 20% of what it will and can be. Game is bit empty but with all anounced updates it will make content and encounters rich. I guess they learned from previos experience that they should give people just enough and to see what they want the most. In general i think they`we hit the right spot.
It is in fact very easy to group up and level with a lower level friend. I have been doing it for the past couple days. The only disconnect when grouping comes with the Dark Zone where the zones are actually restricted to specific character level brackets.
Now that I have that out of the way. This title is much more fun to play than I thought it would be. I for some reason have found myself wanting to play continually even after clearing the entire map and outfitting my toon.
But then, i don't have any friends anyway.
At first I was a little put off by the bullet sponges enemies, the realistic environment is sometime ruined by the fact you have to headshot someone several times, but eh.. is a game is about fun, not represent a shootout in minute details , think in the end nobody would have liked to one shot everything or be one shotted.
I don't mind do repeated tasks, but i hope with the DLCs there'll be more difference between missions, and speaking of realism the weapons seem to be well represented, with a submachine gun is best to to aim low cause the weapon will raise up and spray diagonally, wasn't expecting that in a game.
I had good experiences, in the dark zone too, I was fearing ganking over ganking, instead I found a lot of cooperation, and even rogue agents were fun to play with.
All in all I am having a blast, so let's hope the game develop even more.
I wish the main story would acknowledge more the other agents , like Destiny does, in Destiny you are "one" of the guardians, even in the main story, so far , I am at level 15 and I understand the main story put you as one of the only two agents present in New York , I prefer to think instead that you are one of the many activated agents in the city.

I am lucky enough to also be playing with friends so I believe this helps. You did nail the biggest flaw in the coop play. Currently there is a substantial level gap between myself and my friends who get to play a lot more than I do, so missions we do together end up being very difficult for me... and I am playing a tank build, which makes often makes it comical when your tank is hiding behind a planter as your DPS classes are pushing forward.
I am curious to see how fast mobs drop with the gold weapons vs a purple. I think I'm going pretty well with purple gear and I'm not even maxxed out on Firearms.
and far as Cleaners are concerned, I love fighting these guys.....pssssssss BOOM!
I smash through mobs of my level in short bursts. And one shot with rifle. I would hardly call it a bullet sponge game as much as some are.
For those asking for more realistic combat. Would you ask the same thing in Borderlands? There are already so many shooters that are realistic one hit 007 golden gun games. Do we really need another? Isn't a new CoD or battlefield launching soon?
Well, first of all, they had to nerf the amount of PCredits you could get in the DZ because people at 30 are farming DZ bosses and it made things very imbalanced. As for the XP loss, yes it is excruciatingly tough to get to 50 if you die. It's not just if someone kills you... if NPCs kill you, you can also delevel. And when you're finally max rank, sometimes it's just smarter not to run around in the DZ if you want to keep that max rank. They should have allowed for an "overlevel" or something... like.. max being like.. 53 or something so you had about a 3 level window where you'll still get the benefits of max rank 50 but not have to worry about losing ranks when you're running around.
Penalties are very harsh there.
The bullet sponge outcry is highly exhagerated.
I bet a lot of these people don't bother upgrading their gear with the right mods and stats.
The game allows for a lot of different playstyles.
You can go all out DPS by slotting gear that boosts damage, at cost of stamina and power.
Enemies will go down a hell lot quicker, but you have to use cover a lot as you will be very squishy.
You can also make an all out tank char, putting everything in Stamina and slot as high armor rating as possible, but at cost of damage output. So enemies take longet to kill.
Sound familiar? Classic RPG / MMO mechanics!
Also when you are in a team, the more players join, the harder enemies get. Classic MMO mechanics for group content.
Again, when it comes to bullet sponges. Standard enemies can be easily one shotted with a high damage Marksman rifle. ( the 5 bullet magazine ones )
Most bullet sponges are the luitenants and bosses. Which are suppose to be harder to kill. But they all have weakness areas to kill them much faster.
For example, the flamethrower bosses, you have to target his fuel tanks and make them blow. This will kill him significantly faster, with a hell lot less bullets required!
Again classic RPG mechanics!
I feel most people just don't bother learning the mechanics and just complain for the sake of complaining!
If you can just one shot the luitenants and bosses, then people will get bored and start complaining there is no challenge! Unless they would have to make the NPCs one shot you back!
Well, it's realistic but terrible! Have fun respawning back at the safe house all the time and spend more time walking back, then playing the game. /shrug
