3 Expansions

Hey guys, 

I just read a couple articles that each said that they are planning to release three expansions this year, and the last (last... last... last) one will be called Final Stand. My question... do they mean last one for the year... or LAST one ever?

    I think they will expand on it every year like they have been doing with assassins creed series.  In AC they created a whole new city per game each year for like the last 5-6 years so I wouldnt be surprised if they do the same with Division, at least I hope so.  Maybe next year we will have access to other parts of new york or somewhere outside of new york.

    I would think they will keep up the expansions for at least another season after this. After that it will come down to how many people play the game. 

    But i have heard whispers about expanding outside manhattan. Hard to say if it is just speculation or actual plans. I would think that the Crew will be a good indicator on how they will go forward. If they drop support for the crew (who had is first major expansion but no real news on content since) i am pretty sure the division will see the same fate and that would make the last stand... well the last stand.

    The Division is incredibly more popular than The Crew, so no.

    After Last Stand they would expand the game further if the game does well enough.

    Knowing these companies im sure they will also release The Division:Enhanced Edition that includes all 3 DLC some time after Last Stand. I'm really considering waiting for that one instead unless BDO doesnt hold me long enough.

    As always, any continued development on the game will depend on how well it performs in the first year.

    But there is already a precedent set for possible future expansion: listen to the radio broadcasts in the game world. The announcer says that the infection has spread to all major cities in the US (and probably worldwide, given the speed and frequency of modern travel).

    So perhaps they limited the play area in New York to Manhattan only, seeing as they are already working on modeling for the 2017 release of "The Division: Los Angeles"... :D

    Initially the game was supposed to cover Manhattan and many of the boroughs. Each borough was supposed to house a Darkzone as well. That being said, they've mentioned expanding to the outer boroughs as the game progresses. The first three expansions supposedly will not be doing this, although, I wouldn't put it past them to use the last xpac as a lead in to buying the next season pass.

    There is an area that you can "Glitch" into and explore a new unreleased area west of Hels Kitchen.
