When you consider $30 outfits in the shop, RNG dyes weighted to give you brown available mostly in the shop, and one in-game outfit that basically never changes and looks like secondhand clothes...
It's possible the entire game is basically built from the ground up to make you really, really want to buy outfits and dye from the cash shop.
It's a beautiful world, but if you don't pay $100 in outfits/dyes, you look like a bum.
Graphics are a joke .. everything pops up .It drive me crazy .Even on ultra low things are keep pop up at 1 feet distance.I have the recommended system and more .I already ask for a refund .Good Luck with this mirage of a game!

Well that says alot.
What's your system specs? When was the last time you defragged your drive?
Because it sounds like your system is running like shit.

Dude i have fresh instaled windows 10 with 12 ddr4 on 2400 freq , I5 skylake 3500 x4 (OC to 3900) , Radeon HD 7870 direct cdu thing . And i say things pop up even on ultra low .People who have an eye for quality know what i mean .

And depending on your specs you are probably running with a SSD, so you might take the "defragment your drive" advice a bit lightly.

What are the timings on your ram? just because it says ddr4 2400mhz doesn't mean it aint crap.
You can also have a kick ass system and still have it running like crap. Do you an SSD? or a mechanical drive? do you know what defragmenting is?
If you have a mechanical drive and have never defragged it, you might be amazed at how much better and quicker things including textures will load after a defrag. This is one of the most simple and common problems.
To those who are saying the game isn't gorgeous or has a lack of view distance, these two screenshots will completely disagree with you 100%. The top picture is at night and those buildings you see in the distance are very far. Across the map far and you can see them with the torches on. In-game they're actually glowing and pulsing. Not just static light. The game is definitely gorgeous for it being a fully open world where it has to load everything. Pretty impressive to say the least. Even zoned off games that try an get better graphics don't compete with this. But different strokes for different blokes.

Nice screens, next time take a screenshot in fully daylight and remove blurr effect.
No, it does not. ESO has far less view distance, less AA options, and can't hold water to the rain/weather in BDO. But that is graphics tech. As far as aesthetics, ESO looses again with a very mud-like look on nearly everything (I've yet to see them bring out the vibrant glass Elf armor that was in Oblivion and the Mad God's realm of colorful chaos is completely missing).
Oddly the newest nvidia driver kinda fixed the AA issue I had with the game, not much flickering at distant object sure they are still there but I suspect its has to do with SSAO not working properly because It's the shadow that seems to be wonkey.
I find it funny how stiffly people fanboi for this game, especially its graphics. Come on guys, this horrendous pop-in was fixed ten years ago by much lesser games, and the sheer lack of graphics options is truly sad.
But oh hey this game has "open-world" PvP so you can group up with 4 buddies and go kill players who are ten levels below you, oh wow, well then I guess the ridiculous pop-in is just "part of the game" and we should just "get used to it" because the PvP is so "innovative!" and "groundbreaking!"......right?

It's pointless to argue which has better graphics because its all purely subjective. Everybody has their own opinion as to which is better and that's fine. What I think a lot of people forget is that for a game that is fully open world, no loading screens which has to render everything at once, the game has a pretty damn good set of graphics. Most games that try the whole open world approach are forced to downgrade graphics because of the fact that its open world and everything has to render. This isn't "fanboiing" as some like to ridiculously put it, its a fact that games that are open world downgrade their graphics so that they can be open world.
I've played this game on 2 different systems - My gaming laptop which houses an i7 at 2.4ghz w/GTX660M and my new desktop which houses an i7 at 4.2ghz w/GTX970 and the differences in graphic qualities that I see on the two are entirely different looking. So, I think the game is extremely dependent on what you can and cannot run to see how the game truly looks. On my laptop, the game looks like complete shit. Jagged edges everywhere, horrible detail and it honestly looks like a game made in the early 2000's and then on my desktop, the game is 100% completely different, looks like a game that is next gen and stunning as to how good it looks So I think people are coming from 2 different spectrums on their opinions on the graphics. There's a lot of games that don't change all that drastically going from a lower setting to higher setting but this is one that definitely changes from a lower resolution/medium settings to a higher resolution/higher settings on a drastic level.
The tower the one in the distance. My goodness it looks like a real world you can totally get lost in. I recall feeling that twice before once in Everquest because it was my first game and when I reached Khal in Vanguard and just looked around from a hill.
Yes the game looks sweet to some degree, up close sure it has nice details and sweet graphics but you cant really say overall graphic is gorgeous due to view distance sucks really bad, you either have it blurred out or if it's not It's very pixilated and poor AA you cant really climb up on a mountain and say damn what a view It's all a blurry far away and no details. You got flickering shadows and object sometimes popin, there is so many things that really kill the overall graphic experience, as I sead sure up close and you are standing still looking about 20m infront of you it does look sweet, try climb a hill next time and try to enjoy the vista.

Agree. But it's not matter of view distance. The distance can be improved via seetings and some tricks, but still main problems 1. Screens looks much better than real game. When you run forward/backward that ALL big and small objects appear and disapper so suddenly, it really looks ugly. Suddenly new trees, houses, people, cannons, shadows, it's not realistic at all; looks very poor. Game developers must learn how LOD must work
(from 1:15)
2. Everething on far so blurred, also looks ugly.
(from 1:03)
3. Game has too much aliasing, its very annoyng for me after other games (wow, gw2)

Sad really. Or genius. Hard to say.
And while it may alright graphics it's lacking any creative flavor or design.
XIV 1.0 had a more interesting world and that's pretty sad
