Hi , im over 30 and want to get into BDO because there is not much else on the market atm.
I am however worried about the combat system.
How fast paced is it for someone thats a bit slow with reflexes?
Can I pick a magic type caster class without having to use the keyboard for all skills? or having to jump around the screen?

That being said I personally found the game to be very lackluster.
To many developed systems for a very confusing experience with barely any tutorials. Boring grindy button mashing combat. A cluttered and confusing UI.
FWIW....
You are not going to be able to click skills though. This is mouse look combat using the keyboard or hotkeys for the all the skills.
However, as Mardukk mentions, you can't click skills. If you are using a gaming mouse, such as a naga or similar mouse, that will help a lot if you need to put something on your hotbar.

will it just be a few skills, maybe then I can memorize them and link to keyboard?
Think of it more like a fighting game where you have certain "moves" that you can implement.
So for example, I press "E" I grab my opponent and throw him to the ground. I then can press left mouse button and the "w" key and hit in while he is down, I can then press "S" and the right button key and implement a greater damage ability that goes well with the one that proceeds it.
You get your skills slowly so you can practice them. If you mouse over the icons in the skill window you get a nice animation of what the skill does as well as which button/mouse button to press.

I'm not trying to be a dick but I actually felt a little offended by that.
^ Nah that was just a troll statement. BDO is not street fighter kind of action paced. You just have to be willing to memorize few simple combos with your keyboard and mouse. It doesn't take talant. Enemy's attacks (or the ones that matter at least) are heavily telegraphed and you have a lot of time to step out of the way.
Haven't been in PvP to tell you more, but I'm sure if you have the better level/gear you'll smash out most of teh pro/leet kids these days.
I'm ranger, but I understand that wizard/witch is even less twitchy than ranger, so might be a good choice.
To me it is just a nonsense way of implementing combat,it should NEVER be about remembering keyboard keys in certain orders.
If you were performing some combo attack in real life you wouldn't be like ok left arm first then right arm then back flip then side step Doh cee doh spin your partner round and round lets all do some country line dancing lmao.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Anyway, i know 11 levels isnt much but i like the game so far.
The game is beautiful, and I love everything you can do, but you have to have a good combat system to go along with it or it loses some of my vote points.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
I'm over 60 and I have no problems with it whatsoever. But then again I bought a multi-button gaming mouse for MMOs years ago and haven't looked back since.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
I'm starting to wonder if maybe a caster would be less of a problem for me, even though it's easy mode at the moment.
Biggest problem with this game is I feel completely lost. So far, tutorials are minimal when they even exist. I'm hoping they get a little more in depth in the 20's? I went to the website, where there is very minimal information. Can someone point me in a direction of a good website?

Kidding aside, The age that was introduced to gaming when it first entered the world is generally going to be the largest segment until we die. Kids are always surprised that I am a "gamer", even if I have less time for it these days, because I am 41. If you were a kid when Nintendo came out. . you are likely to always be a gamer. It entered the world during our formative years in an accessible way like pot did for you.
Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!
I'm halfway through reaching the stage where I can be genuinely offended by Naowut's comment! Yay!
Naowut said: But seriously, I'm enjoying BDO's combat immensely. I play a warrior and I find the system extremely refreshing compared to tons of other MMOs where you just stand rooted to the spot and spam two attacks the whole time. The only problem I imagine I'll soon have is not knowing where to quickslot potions once my skills take up the entirety of my hotbar. But, at level 15, it is still not a concern.
"It's too fast! HELP MEEEEEEE!"
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Heck, I went out with a woman in her early 50's and she plays hockey!
