i heard they sell exp boosts. that might qualify as bit of p2w especially in a game without a level cap. atleast if you keep increasing in power with each level.
Maybe you should all give it a try =P This is my opinion and I have played it each day for hours on end, I had at no point said you couldn't make a profit but there are many items you post on the market that sell for much less than the items worth as for the ghilles suit if you don't think being in camo to players is a bonus to the rest of the non paying players then I do believe you don't know what p2w is
p2w is an advantage over another player and selling items on the Pearl Shop like those 2 suits is an advantage
Do note too that BDO still has a backlog of untranslated content in the process of getting ported over and Pearl Abyss is (at present) putting in a good amount of effort to get that content delivered over to the EU/US version quickly.
Semantically, the RU/KR version has a bit over twice the landmass available, and the quests are also greatly expanded alongside gear progression and node management.
The announcement recently was that we'll be getting a major content expansion already at the end of this month.
So, not to say you shouldn't judge the game based on what it lets you do at present, do realize that "at present" is changing.

This game failed in every other region, with a population falling into irrelevance after merely a couple of weeks. Why did anyone think it would be different in the West. A bad game is a bad game.

There seem to have been a roll out here of games with 'things to do!' - but most of them ending with open world pvp. This will suit some, but it's never been fully mass market. So when a few come along this player base gets divided - or gravitates to what's seen as the 'best' one of the new crop. pve players may stick with it for a while as they explore the other things to do while leveling, but if higher levels (or end game) leaves them open to repeated gank attacks they'll soon drift away.
That's not saying games like this will die off, just that they'll have a low population. Whether this population level will be enough to promote future game expansions (whether it's BDO - or similar) will have to be seen. - By new content I don't mean the eastern catch up patches. Brand new content that the game hasn't had in any region.

different region, different interests... that and the growing population, general feedback and revamped cash shop/sell&trade system for NA/EU.... yap try again harder

Well considering FFXIV is ranked much lower than BD In Korea (80/100) and yet is deemed one of the best P2P themepark games currently In the west, I think it's safe to say what doesn't work in one region won't predict the outcome in another. Also the playerbase actually had a tiny increase, which has already proven several times.
Suffice it to say that BDO is not for everyone. We shouldn't take for granted that there is a segment of the MMO playing population that can't handle complex game play in their MMORPGs. Fortunately for those who are not able to grasp the genius that is BDO, there are simpler games out there that are more their speed. It doesn't make sense to debate the quality of an MMORPG the likes of BDO with these people. They simply can not grasp it's beauty. They would rather continue for developers to continue to churn out WoW type clones, than appreciate a game that dares to challenge the dreary "meh" state in which the MMORPG genre finds itself in. These folks complain when another WoW clone is released but when a game comes out that deviates from that tired old formula they are unable to, or do not have the capacity, to be able to venture outside of their comfort zones and embrace the effort.
Another one of these ? This is catering to a special niche and that group of people will play the fuck out of it for months to come. Move along people, nothing to see here.
Every complaint brought up here were brought up before launch and no-one that did they researched worked under the illusion that black desert was going to be the sandbox that did everything right and that people would love for years.
I accepted that Black Desert was never going to be my type of game, I knew that before alpha in the west. You only got yourself to blame for purchasing the game blindly.
Iselin: And the next person who says "but it's a business, they need to make money" can just go fuck yourself.
I love how people like to create rants without even understanding what 'niche' is. This game is niche just like AA, slow declining pop sure and most people are just using games till Legion, but games like these will be around for a few years
Threads like this need to have "........for me!" tacked on.

I guess he didn't get enough of a reaction over there? Some people just need that attention even when it's in their best interest to keep it low key.
This was my favorite part about P2W:
...the swim outfit its a p2w also as other players have to gather for hours, get contribution points to build a shipyard to make a boat when others can simply purchase a outfit to swim.
Swimming in a dorky suit is equal / better than a boat? Who knew!

I don't play games to see if i can make a profit in some node management mini game or in any capacity,i play games looking for some adventure, some fun and with other players. If all your game offers is a bunch of single player game play why the heck would i bother to login and why would i look for a single player game inside a MMO when you can always get a better experience in an actual single player game.
ALL of these games are VERY weak efforts at delivering an online experience, the login screen is a joke,it only exists so the publisher/developer can ruin a cash shop.

I had fun once, it was terrible.
Come back in 2 months and read the posts. That's all I have to say.

Know what's good about the fish suit? - it scales with you......

That was just a peak into someone else's mind and it was scary, I cant imagine what else gets conjured up on a daily basis.
