This is Don't Starve written all over it. I would think MMORPG.COM would not support copy cat games even if they pay advertising dollars on their website. where is the standard threshold?
Even if we set morality aside, how could one trust these developers when they can't even make their own art style? It doesn't have to be as cool as Don't Starve's is, but even something basic would be better than this. Since they're clearly morally bankrupt, how could one trust them not to screw their customers over?
I won't set morality aside in this case, though. There's nothing wrong with being inspired by something, but this... this is pathetic and disgraceful.

If you are going to post a reply that includes how you feel about me, please don't bother replying & just ignore my post instead. I'm on this forum to talk about GAMING. Thank you.
@Torval the flaw in your argument is Don't Starve is from a Indie studio not a mega company like Blizzard where the wow clones don't effect them in the slightest. Also, how do you know they aren't shuttered by Blizzard? you know personally every comment ever from every Blizzard employee? I don't think so
-I had to go find this to support my opinion.
"Don't Starve is a 2013 action-adventure video game with survival and roguelike elements, developed and published by the Canadian indie company Klei Entertainment."
Honestly there so much copy cat games in general that its not even worth getting angry at lux itself. Its the fact that MMORPG.COM is accepting ad revenue from a unethical copy cat game. its going against there Sponsored Content definition.

actually they've been accepting sponsoring copy cat games for awhile so I guess I should give up and move on with doing my own research into new games coming out. I don't know what's right anymore
Literally had to make an account just to throw in my two cents after watching this for a few days. I dont rlly get how this is any different than every "realistic" fps game that came out after the first ones. Like Medal of Honor v. Call of Duty v. Battlefield? Minecraft v. Trove? Pokemon v. Digimon? Magic v. Yu-gi-oh? I don't think they are trying to make a copy of DS it seems more like they are trying to explore a genre that DS helped open the door for... Even more so I feel this point is proved now that they even have a Q&A on the front page lol
I thought Don't Starve was making the game in to an MMO also.
Exactly. I saw the picture and was like "Oh, a Don't Starve MMO?", then read the title, and was somewhat confused.
I won't comment on the legality of it, because I'm not educated/informed in such things.
But if anyone says the artists weren't trying to outright cop the art style and look of Don't Starve, they're blatant liars, or have never seen Don't Starve before.
