My MMORPG game time has dwindled. Mostly due to the fact that MMORPGs are doing the same trick, over and over. I've found myself moving more towards CRPG and Strategy games (my old standby).
Games I am currently playing:
- Thea: The Awakening. Turn-based, strategy / RPG / survival / god game. Amusing and frustrating. Nearly fallen out of my chair laughing or fuming at this game. Check it out and watch your free-time check out.
- Hearts of Iron 3. I'm still experimenting with this RTS adaption of WW2. What if France builds nothing but tank destroyers, can they withstand the German onslaught in 1938. Nope. What if France builds only Artillery, can they hold the Maginot line? Nope. What about air power? ... Lots of experiments, and a good conduit for me to conduct them in.
- Everquest 1. I still manage to find time for an hour break to do something with the genre's grandfather. Why? I don't know. Go pester someone else.
Games on standby:
- SW:TOR. I've put in over 200 game hours on this one, and I still haven't finished the class quest. My quest list just gets bigger every time I log on. One of the most frustrating games I've encountered, but I might manage to play an hour a month.
- LotRO. I seemed to have lost which servers my characters are on with the great server move. But the game was getting difficult to keep my attention on this one. Now, I can't tell which server has my new (newest) characters, and where the remnants of prior game periods are.
Games on the horizon:
- Stellaris. Paradox's upcoming 4x RTS. It will have first dibs on attracting my money. I just need some hands-on time to completely sell myself. May 2016.
- Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. An actual MMORPG. It is going to have to show me something beyond the EQ-like systems and game play that they have rolled out so far. Following, but at a significant distance. Maybe 2017? 2018?
So, what games have your attention?
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

Then I'm thinking I should go back and finish up Dark Souls 2 for the inevitable Dark Souls 3 purchase, but I'd also like to take another go at Divinity OS with a friend of mine. I'm also waiting for some survival mods for Fallout 4 to spruce up the challenge.
