It's funny cause the Soon™ thing, people must be new to MMOs cause they sure are not liking that answer. Also I'm pretty sure they just lost a bunch of PvE's because they pretty much said:
What are your plans regarding the rework of the Karma system?
It is inevitable not to have any kind of controversy regarding the Karma system. Also it is impossible to prevent every abusing case or occasional cases that happen around the system. Loop
holes for abuse exist even in the remedial measures that we have
discussed so far and also we experienced collateral damage in our past
systems.
Opening the Valencia region and having a town and content for PK players will alleviate on-going issues with the Karma system.
We admit that the current Karma system isn't perfect. The Karma system affects the calculation of all attacks, causing huge impact on server performance. So
unfortunately, it's hard to take direct action on this matter in short
amount of time, however we will keep researching alternatives that can
improve the situation.
Will you provide a server or a channel in which PvP is
"flag-only" or PvE Only for those who don't like this "nonconsensual"
PvP?
Yeah it's what I meant by "dodging," Who cares about how the Karma system affects server performance lol. That wasn't the point of the 2nd question.

To be fair though, these guys never really answer any questions. They're almost to damn slick for they're own good. I'm sure they're looking at it, they just never say anything about any subject. It always seems to be a carefully worded vague answer that just leaves one scratching their head.
This will probably be one of those things that they just drop on the community on a patch and we won't know about it until the day before the patch. They really need to stop being so cautious about releasing info.
For example we were planning to release the Castle Siege Mode in April, but due to our different server setups compared to the KR service, we are now in the process of upgrading our Server structure (in regards of specs) to provide the best environment possible. This will take a bit of time due to the ordering process of new technical assets,
So ... Why didn't they confer with Korea on what they needed to have for hardware prior to ordering what they have at the moment?
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

The game is pathetic don't even bother playing it I tried BDO spent $100 had to deal with their XingCode3 stuff for months before I could even play and when I did the game I saw beautiful graphics, but horrid game-play, horrid cash shop no signs of any of it changing because Daum Games is here to milk the cows.
Over-All I would look into investing into Crow Fall or Dark Fall Rise OF Agon way better games sand-box titles likely without this pay 2 win / pay 2 enjoy stuff.
"For western players, we are planning to narrow the gap regarding enchantment levels compared to Korean service. We have already reduced the gear gap a bit in the special mode like Crimson Battlefield but it is possible to take a step further in narrowing the gap if it's necessary."
I doubt the gear gap will ever be narrowed to the degree that I like, but it is something at least.

Good point...
Well they say the reason for the delay is that the server set up is different to what they have in Korea. The difference, as far as I know, is due to (some) Western players demanding multiple servers instead of a mega server.
To be honest, Daum Games Europe seem to be straw men.
The almost complete lack of customer support, and also this constant dodging of questions, the lack of info. This makes me worry about the future of the game here in EU/NA. Not the cash shop, not the gameplay, not the world, which are all excellent enough to have attracted a large number of players.
I'm afraid a really bad company will ruin the game's future here in our country.
Honestly I am surprised they have an office in EU - as EU laws are much stricter for fair business practices, including online video games/entertainment.
If you open an office in EU - you better be ready to follow the laws to full extent.
I don't think they'll ruin the game though - as Black Desert stands well on it's own merits just fine - I enjoy the game for what it is, there are things that drive me crazy about it but - I still keep playing.
I recently started playing a Berserker alt - it's honestly painful in comparison to other classes - I guess I am a masochist. I am only at level 36 so far, as I just started yesterday - if I don't get my 4HP awakening on my spin2win - I honestly don't know if I have it in me to keep playing the zerker heh.
Zerker is a lot better than warrior at least IMO and still a very viable class to play even if a bit weak compared to others.Renoaku said:

LOL Darkfall.. ... ... ... Says it all. Crowfall... we shall see. Stop hyping games that have yet to bear a single fruit. As it stands BDO is currently better than every single game out there currently released. Until something better comes out... I'll play it. I have a hard time finding anything wrong with it. Only 3 mmos have ever crossed my path, EQ WOW, GW and now BDO. All the rest have come and gone and died miserable... like you will.

Oh man, I remember back in the day (when I had a different name here) a few folks here on these and some other forums drumming on and on about Darkfall and Fallen Earth and how great they were gonna be and how we all suck cause we don't worship those games...then they came out and we never heard a word about how great of games they were again.....When we asked, so how is DF or FE? they refused to talk about it. xD I have seen so many games come and go here, i stopped believing long ago. I got stories man xD

They addressed that a few live streams ago, they honestly didn't think the game was going to be as well received as it was. It proved more popular than they anticipated, and they had to upgrade the servers within the first 2 weeks. Now they are working toward making sure they are even better to handle the extra weight of siege. Makes sense to me.
Anyway this really made me happy, So the answer, which we need to find, is the proper balance regarding the enchantment system. Either having too much gap or too little gap can both be considered system flaws.
For western players, we are planning to narrow the gap regarding enchantment levels compared to Korean service. We have already reduced the gear gap a bit in the special mode like Crimson Battlefield but it is possible to take a step further in narrowing the gap if it's necessary.
This also,
What we would like to see and that is also what we are addressing to the developers is to push items to be obtainable via other means than the cash shop. For example offering pets through repeatable quests or achievements. Additionally we are reviewing upcoming items and do our best to prevent adding RNG related cash items. We are not very happy with the current Dye System for example, because it is quite RNG heavy and not very user friendly, but revamping those features will take time.

Top 10 reasons you might be a fanboy:
#1 You don't think there's a problem with the cash shop or monetization model, yet the people actually making money off it think it's too extreme.
But I kid the fanboys (not really). I sometimes wish I could see the world through such rose colored glasses. Reminds me of being a child.
Unfortunately for the rest of us, this is just words. If they do allow some decent variety of outfits in game, and dyes, and pets, then I'd probably buy the game. I don't expect that to happen any time soon. I also don't believe the "revamping of these features" is what will take time (if they really didn't like the way it was set-up, they didn't have to launch with the system in place). I believe they are planning a way to attract new players in the future that won't buy into the current monetization model (like me). It may or may not coincide with a switch to f2p.
Only problem is, how pissed off are people that paid for the pets and dyes now if they become available in game? Especially say someone that bought 50 dyes trying to get the colors he wanted, and then they make some permanent dye free and non-rng in the game?
It's the same reason they'll never change the treant suit. People would want refunds.

Yes, I too wish I could see from whatever glasses you wear that makes you think BnS is so much better, that you need to spend all your time posting negative comments about BDO. Treant suits are getting counter flares, and smart people are waiting for the desert camo suit anyway since most of end game will not be in a green environment.
DMKano it's not an easy fix. You always have tradeoffs. An easy fix would be to add packet validation or some sort of encryption (however encryption would only stop a rookie since the signing key has to be within the game client, thus it can be extracted).
However this increases latency. Or rather, server response time (since it has to process data). Increase in server response time increases the load of the server and the issue becomes even greater the more people are playing.
In an action oriented game every millisecond counts. Korean MMOs have by far better combat than what we have in NA/EU. TESO can't hold a candle to BDO or Blade & Soul or Archeage. These MMOs have super fast combat system with heavy relying on positioning. Guild Wars 2 is similarly exploited by packet editing (e.g. people going below the map in WvW to attack people who can't fight back, because they don't have clear line of sight )
Also keep in mind that any encryption or validation bytes increases the traffic between server/client and people with slower connections might suffer.

Well people who buy really have no reason to ask for refund...like anything else in life, you buy at full price, you don't get a refund when it comes on sale or a year later when a product is worth less.
But that someone who spent money on 50 dyes is the reason nothing will change in the cash shop, because there is plenty of people spending the money.
