    Also, someone discovered the Ben website and posted about it on Reddit over FIVE months ago.

    He posted it on the RSI forum, which is how it ended up on Reddit.

    Game developers are just human beings who happen to make games for a living.
    If you want to hold us up to higher standards of conduct, then go ahead
    ...but don't be surprised if we don't uphold them.

    I see where you are coming from. I really do. I am not defending his shitty humor here. It is obviously in bad taste. You have to be a real pro comedian to do the crass humor right. He did not.

    I just don't think a direct line from poor judgement jokes to scum of the Earth can be drawn here. I will not call Ben Lesnick a sickko just because of the journal anymore than I would call Nabokov a pedo.

    Yeh, I think this is most advantageous for Lando atm. Really, before this, most SA goons felt for Lesnick, the way Sandi put donuts in front of him on camera, the way his health is obviously deteriorating. Look at the guy on the latest RtV. His clothes aren't presentable, his hair's all greasy, he can't see his phone further than 4 inches. I don't think Lesnick is the fall guy they want. I think Lando either is the goon or helped the goon who "re-exposed" this. Lando really does leak alot of things that make people look bad.

    When the OTHER topic of this weekend was how Jared (Disco Lando) supposedly hates some of his co-workers (and supposedly  talked about it on video) and supposedly was the one who leaked that information about Ben Lesnick ...  Yes.

    Hence why I used the word deprave :). As I agree it doesn't mean he's truly the scum, just that his mind is in the gutter so to speak. He may have changed as he does acknowledge the stupidity in such commentary. Yet at the same time an apology after being caught is a bit different than a show of change prior.

    People are trying so hard to pin Ben Lesnick down is very worrying. They try so hard to make him look worse than he probably is. I cannot look into his head but some accusations here are somehow hateful.

    This is so hypocritical what some people here are doing that I really have to say:


    Those who scream the loudest have the most to hide!


    Example: When I was a teenager I protested all the time when my mother was smoking. I was anti smoking and that pretty aggressive... but I was a secret smoker myself until she found out eventually. 

    Another one: An acquintance of me was homophobic and always reacted with disgust when that topic  homosexuality came up. Today he is a proud gay man who is ashamed he was so anti. He just wanted to suppress this feeling that was always inside him. And surpressing something that is no danger for others can make you ill and a two faced person.

    And here in this forum we have some prime examples of people who are the first to "scream" (not literally) when something is "dug" up. 

    Mr. Smart is i.e. a hypocrite... someone who preaches all the time that CIG is wrongdoing all the time but he never ever would admit that he does the things he accuses others of (like banning people from his forums or even the game as example). But enough of him even if he is the source of 90% of the hate and disgusting things.


    Some of you should look into the mirror and honestly ask yourself if that what you accuse others of maybe is something you have in yourself. 

    Keep the grammatical errors.

    Yeah Imma gonna take that "Insightful" away from the above @SmartySmart's post because I realized he is calling a whole lot of posters potential closeted pedophiles.

    I don't think so. If I see someone having fun doing something I find repulsive, as swimming in a full septic tank, I don't believe I am upset because I'm repressing "the inner poo swimmer" in myself. I think it's, justifiably, pretty far out of my sphere, and I'll discuss it as such.

    That was not and is not my intention and not even on my mind. The part with looking at the mirror and hypocrisies is meant generally. I'll look at my post now and correct that.

    Sorry if someone felt offended by the mistake.

    That's something completely different. Of course one feels disgusted if i.e. he sees someone throwing around his stool.

    What I am saying that people who preach the loudest have something to hide. Not that when you see something that is not ok and does not be in line with your inner beliefs etc. (even if it might not be wrong what you see). It's about people who stand on the moral high ground. No one is free of sin. But all our thoughts are free. 

    Of course it's not clever and cool at all that Ben Lesnick posted such thing on the Internet but once again it's about slinging shit (something I believe everyone here would find disgusting).

    It's the "hey look at that fat man who writes bad things on the Internet. What a disgusting person he is" and thinking "I have had such thoughts myself but no one knows and I will tell no one. The louder I scream the less attention is on me that I am also such a bad person".

    I never said there's nothing to see nor did I say that if you really have a point that you can not argue because you may have secret bad thoughts yourself. It's about standing on the moral high ground.

    It's about hypocrisy.

    But interesting that you feel addressed. 

    For clarification:

    Ben posted things that people might find disturbing. Yes
    Did he overstep a line? Difficult to say. Psychological profile needed.
    It is not clever that the site is still online when he is CM at CIG. Yes
    Did he hurt anyone? No
    Is it really important what he did back than when he admitted that he had wrong notions but evolved as a normal human being? No but depends on your acceptance.
    Is it reason enough to fire him as it is wished by haters (as it hurts the project etc.)? No

    The bigger question isn't how we or even the people at CIG feel about this.

    That question will the actors/stars that is part of this be able to ignore all of this and allow their names to be associated with SC anymore. That is still up in the air and I have a feeling it will not go down well with them.

    No what you're doing is rather than discuss the point here, because... well... there's no real angle to side with, you're resorting your tactics to one of "demonize the rival". The issue at hand speaks for itself, in such a situation it's best to just let it do that. Give the rival the point and move on.

    I have to say though that this attempt at character assassination by your camp is wonderfully ironic seeing as the main reason you anti-fans claim no one will step forward and directly call out Chris Roberts for being a lying toolbag is the dread of personal attacks exactly such as this. Congratulations on becoming the exact kind of people you claim to hate.
    So... Derek Smart posting, in an opinion piece, "I don't believe this project will ever be delivered as promised", or wanting to see some accountability from a company that has taken in over 111 million in backer money, is unacceptable and justifies all the attacks, slander and such he's received from the game's "community". 

    But  someone posting actual links to actual sources of some awful, repulsive things that were actually said by someone is considered "character assassination"... just because the person happens to be involved in a project you're interested in.

    Wow. Can it get any more hypocritical than that? At one time, it could be argued that saying SC fans would accept and defend anything someone from that project said or did would be hyperbole. After this, nope. It's absolute fact. You people are seriously screwed in the head.

    Gary Oldman is in talks to play Winston Churchill right now. He can't afford to be associated with these kinds of people. He did an interview days ago about his career highpoints, things he enjoyed, and Star Citizen wasn't addressed once. He doesn't want it. He already was in deep enough 2 years ago with association with this manner of open speech.
