On April 12th, Ubisoft Massive released its first major content addition to The Division, finally adding its version of raids, called Incursions. While the additional content for max level players is welcome, the execution of the update was terrible. In no time at all, players were exploiting the raid and earning multiple max level items, breaking the Dark Zone while they were at it. Ubisoft needs to teach these players a harsh lesson.

Yes Ubi need to fix their game (Havent we been here before?) but that is no excuse, zero, for exploiting and ruining the game for legitimate players who play fairly and in the spirit of gaming.
I just hope their ban is a full permanent one, not a week suspension and a slap on the wrists.
Cheats prosper in the real world all the time, because we let them, but if we can keep our game worlds clean at least we can log in and forget about things for a couple of hours.
its a great game, but reading all this exploit & cheater crap- sounds to me like ill just be doin the pve part n call it a day with this game- no desire togo into pvp- until they either do a clear wipe with players level 30 and above or just plain start the ban hammer (which will take longer) but for sure itll be the right thing todo.
anyways i hope Ubi wins this battle. and an extra note- they should release more pve content to keep players ingame.
The easiest fix would be to dwarf current gear which is what level 203? after the exploits are found and fixed and make the new gear lvl 250 greens that anyone can get ahold of and lvl 280 harder stuff. lots of ands :P
Massive has bent over and spread themselves for the exploiters. I will never spent any money on a game Massive is involved in. They will not even have a discussion about what is going on. They only say they know about it and don't like it then say things that are just filler words for "we are not giving answers but will talk for minutes about things like we have a daily meeting discussing everything going on for the game" so don't think any of the exploiting cheaters will be punished. Players who play the game correctly are just punished.
Example of how bad it is would be this week with Hamish Bode wanting to show the community that the challenge mode can be completed without cheating. He teams up with three people with 240 gear sets that used the alt switching mode to get as many weekly rewards as they wanted. He was told in stream he was doing it with cheaters but he asked them and said they told him no cheating was used. He straw polled for staying in party. So disgusted that I no longer watch.
They even showed employees exploit on their official stream. Gabe used the backpack switching to get extra ammo and health packs and tried to say it was nothing bad to suddenly get sullen after outcries in chat while no longer using and refusing to talk about it. Which is typical Massive response beyond stating know about it and don't like. Silence on the subjects.
When will you ever learn the values of testing code before you release it?
I've always thought it stupid for companies to ban or punish players that use "exploits" in the game -- when the "exploits" are written inherently in the game code.
Like Bullet King was a huge exploit... it was fixed.. but had they punished players that utilized it -- that isn't their fault really.
Ability stacking -- big exploit for months, didn't require any modifications to the game or anything like that. People shouldn't be penalized for doing it when they're essentially just utilizing the in-game mechanics.
exploits aren't true cheats or hacks... they are taking items that are already in the game and finding the best use of them. If they want those "exploiters" stopped, they fix the game.
If they want the Hackers stopped -- they ban them. Any unfair advantages you get from 3rd party or modified settings outside of the game should be punished accordingly.
This is a fair idea similarly to how they've said they would handle cheaters in the past. Their previous plan was to give a three day ban on first offense, then a perma ban for a second.
Let's party like it is 1863!
You are too nice, cheat once and you are gone would be my policy. Its Hammertime.

This complete mess of exploiting muppets spoiled the gaming time me and my son were having. You would always run into a group of assholes thinking its great to not play as it should be played.
morons.
Problem is, Massive nor Ubisoft is doing anything about it!
They just kept the exploits going rampant for almost two weeks, before they fixed it, just to have new exploits immediately popping up again!
The game is just broken! They royally messed up with Patch 1.1!
They only way they could have salvaged the situation, is if they had done an immediate rollback of the patch when the exploits were discovered!
Instead they just let all the cheaters keep on going for almost two weeks, getting full 240 gear sets!
The Darkzone as result is now one big gankfest by these cheaters! Completely unplayable by legit players!
Worst is, Massive employees have been caught on Livestreams abusing exploits themselves! Like the ammo glitch!
What kind of idiocy and ridiculous behaviour is that? What kind of example do you give? They basically just tell it's ok to cheat this way!
And the PC.....my god Im glad I bought the PS4 version.... as on PC the hacking is just completely nuts and has been going on unchecked ever since the beta!
No! Massive doesn't seem to give a feck about the game! They got our money for the box....they got our money for the season pass!
No one has been banned yet! Just go into the DZ and see for yourself. Just takes a few seconds before you're being one shotted by a cheater.
No one takes my car when I drive too fast or worst case kill a person while driving, especially not the manufacturer. If you can't pay the fine then maybe but otherwise no chance.
And comparing hurting people in real life with a computer game is... let's call it "strange".
Besides, if it's true that devs did it on stream I guess it's sure to say: working as intended.
That being said, those accounts that used glitches should be perma-banned.
I see so many blind gamer's it really seems like hardly anyone actually sees what is happening to this industry,it is in a shambles, cheap half assed games and devs trying to get far more money out of their game than it is worth.
I said from day 1 the Division is a good looking game but not nearly enough released content,it was RUSHED out the door.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Its also weird all the auctions police departments have...where do they all those vehicles.
Exploits are taking advantage of something in the game that isn't functioning the way it's intended, but is it cheating? Sometimes.
Let's say it's a trading game, and you find a trade route that gives you 13% more profit than the usual routes per time period, is it cheating? Gee, a trader finding an optimal trade route sure doesn't sound like cheating to me, but if the devs intended no trade route to have that high of a profit, then it is an exploit, even if you don't know it is.
Using a dance emote to go through a wall into the locked treasure room? Sure it's an exploit, and it's absolutely a cheat.
Using a trade function glitch to duplicate items? Again an obvious exploit, and yes, an obvious cheat as well.
All those, with a few modification are real situations that have happened in MMOs. They've been dealt with in various ways from banning, to rollbacks, and in the case of the trade profit, just patching the data so it no was possible.
(Yes, lots of people were screaming for blood & bans with the trade route one, but that was pretty irrational, especially since it was a low value beginner route that was quickly eclipsed by better trade goods once you could afford to buy more cargo. It wasn't even a non-consensual pvp game.)
There is no single blanket answer or response, and they should all be looked at individually. Of course, the rule of thumb is it's pretty bloody obvious when an exploit is a cheat, except possibly to those with a complete lack of morals whom you probably don't want to play with anyway.
