GameSpot has produced a trio of videos featuring interviews with several members of the Blizzard development team behind the cancelled project Titan. In these candid interviews developers acknowledge mistakes made on Titan and the pain of the failure. However, out of the ashes of Titan came Overwatch, set to be released in May. You can watch all three videos, about an hour's worth of interviews, below. Let us know what you think in the comments!

I'm not into FPS's, but I enjoy playing OW a bit. I hope if it becomes successful Blizz will then revive it as an MMORPG.

Rise of the 60$ for PvP maps... Get a clue people.

Don't know if there'll be a cash shop at release, but don't be dumb... You know there's going to have one at some point... Not to far away.

I acknowledge that you are entitled to your opinion but I think its a really f***ing stupid one. Also, the standard PC version is only 40.

Lol $60 for a great game that's a ton of fun, not sure I see a problem with that. Is this where I say get a clue people?

and, repeating myself, the 60$ version is the bloody collector's edition.
the normal version comes at 30 bucks, no idea why you bitching folks never actually check the infos before you complain... but hey, after all i will say this again in at least a month, to someone else who neither read the pricing and decided to start crying right away.

cheers love, the cavelery is here!
and quite frankly, if you are not willing to pay 30$ or € for a game, you might concider playing mobile games ^^

It s not throwing money away if you re enjoying it. Really odd to think it s a sheep mentality at all.

He's pissed he can't play it for free and so therefore attacks the people who like it enough to pay for it. Shocker.

ITs designed as f2p game like every other korean shooter. The price is not justified-its a stupid trend. you could say yur paying once again for founders.

For some reason I like the MOBA style mixed FPS of Battleborn a bit more. The game is more objective based. It is more solid with having a full campaign mode beyond just a multiplayer mode. And the interaction of players with the maps by building turrets, speed boosters, healing stations, etc. It makes player/team support much more viable too. Players choose whether to spend their shards (equivalent of Gold) on their own gear upgrades to unlock, or to get stations for the team to help the overall push. And the map creep mods on the sentry attack map add another layer to the fight.

** Opinion by not having played Overwatch yet, only Battleborn. Have only watched Overwatch on Twitch streams and opinion based on watching what seems to be a less organized, chaotic mess.

Battleborn is also not bad. But it will be dead game very soon.

It will simply never manage to build enough people to keep servers populated at 60$ asking price ( not at PC in any case )

All other games of its kind are F2P , and except of Blizzard nobody can pull asking money for something that is free at the market. And even they are entering bit of the risk

    Garbage game.

I ge that impression too, only played Battleborn, but for the videos of Overwatch it seems more like a regular arena FPS to me. Battleborn is a bit more unique and the SP campaign is a good bonus.

There's only one thing I despise of these games (Besides only pvp) and that is the lack of content on release.

When a game like Titanfall boasted their ego for ditching the single player campaign to focus more on the online pvp mode but then releasing with few maps on the roaster, it's not a good sign. Just like other people said, there's f2p alternatives. If they are going to ask a price infront to play the game I expect more content.

I'm sure blizzard will deliver but I kinda see it as a trend on those fps/moba games launching with a handful of maps and people getting bored quickly.

All I'm saying is; If you are saving money from making a singleplayer campaign and stuff, shouldn't you on the other hand have more stuff for the pvp modes? Cause it hasn't happened yet. They ditch a side of a game claiming to be focusing on one part only but then launch with the same amount of content the same type of game releases and having both.

Will we ever see something of Titan? A screenshot, at least?

That first clip was one of the most powerful video I've ever saw about games. It is very hard to recon your failure and to start on a somehow new road. Yet, Titan team has done it. I am proud of them.

Love it or hate it , Blizzard DO put passion in all their project and actually they do care about their gamers.

    Keep it up!

Sigh... all these people still willing to give Gearbox their money after all their lies and bullshit. They probably sit there and wonder why companies misrepresent their products in trailers, or push out half-finished garbage. News flash: It's because bleating sheep-like consumers keep buying it.

That anyone would do business with that company after Aliens: Colonial Marines just blows my mind. Do you not understand how they scammed people? How they lied directly to the players and the gaming press? How they defrauded Sega and used the money for ACM on Borderlands 2 instead? How that sack of shit Pitchford still won't admit any responsibility for what happened?

But I guess all that isn't as important as a shiny new game, eh? They dangle their keys in your face, and you're chomping at the bit.

AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

It's an 'OK' FPS game released by a monster of a company.

It certainly doesn't surprise me that Overwatch was created by the leftovers of a terrible game. It shows and plays like it.

Ya I'm the epitome of not a sheep for the new and shiny, otherwise I would be playing games like BDO etc. That said, I ve played it and like it, shoot me or maybe better yet, get all freaked out about someone enjoying anything.

    So you are saying

"$60 for pvp maps? Ha! How dumb you look now!

    It's $40."

To be fair, it's a game that is online only and has a fairly small amount of content.  They only do this now because they can get away with it, they never did before.

In the past, a game like this would have both pve and pvp and put a lot more effort to add variety.  It's a fun game but it's still very shallow and not really worth the price tag.
  • DeltoisDeltois Member UncommonPosts: 384
Definitely worth the price tag IMO.
  • tawesstawess Member EpicPosts: 4,227
Well... Having pulled my teeth our getting through the campaigns in our so called modern shooters....

I am not crying over it being moved out of Overwatch. Much better they focus on doing one thing right. Should the IP take off we can get a story driven game in a year or three. Preferably one that is focused on the single player or co-op part from the start.

Overwatch give me what i want from it... A more interesting TF2 with superheroes that has the Blizzard polish. For that i am willing to fork over for the CE.

And i do not give a fuck if people like @Demogorgon think that this is being a sheep... Because by that logic they are too.

This have been a good conversation

I dont get it - in the past there were several MP only full price games on PC. (UT, Q3 Arena i.e)

I played Overwatch only on the 2 free weekends and played it more than other games I already paid for. And I dont think that you can get this quality for free. Paladins is good too, but feels way rougher and the champions are without any soul.

In OW you can like/hate/feel something for every hero bc they are designed so awesome. The UI is clean and you always understand what happens.

In Battleborn there is too much - and as they said in the videos, this is something they avoided in OW. BB might be good game, I liked the PvE Missions, but for PvP I enjoyed OW a lot more.

And I played both games (and Paladins, Paragon, Gigantic ..), not like some ppl here that didnt played any of them or only one ^^

Who ever didnt played Overwatch, play it in the Open Beta and after that you can complain about stuff.

@tawess Sure because we all know that two wrong makes something right. Right?

Use your head please. They didn't focus more on anything, they just removed more stuff.
Use my head for what...? Did i not just tell you that my choice (if i was asked to make the decision) would have been to do the exact same thing. In my mind it is not removing something wanted... rather getting rid of something unwanted.

It is a matter of taste... But unlike you i am not so narrow minded that i think of others as sheep for not liking my exact preference.

Either that or you go through life with a cynical scowl towards EVERYTHING... And if so i pity you.
