The "wait" is bearable. Over these 5 years, 3 months and 2 weeks of waiting to spend $ on a product I'll enjoy these F2P games played a big factor in making the wait more bearable.

These F2P games I spend my time on are not the future for gaming, not in my eyes at least, not due to their monetizing model, but more about the direction and design within, which is why I only play them as "free", but they are good enough to help me pass the time until a product arrives that I'll vote with my wallet so I can see it become something greater through time as well as others to copy it just like they did with WOW.

There are all kinds of markets out there because today there are more people involved in gaming not just on PC, but console, mobile, browser/facebook etc, etc. This is why we've seen game companies try to pursue some of these newer markets. There are many who've succumbed on opening their wallets on products they don't really cater to them, but they do it anyways due to boredom or disposable $ as they have nothing else to spend or in need to save.

I believe through these 5 years, 3 months and 2 weeks if I was too careless and kept spending $ on many new, hyped products, backed by popular IP's or tagged as MMORPG I might've enjoyed gaming a bit more, but I would still find myself in the current state and even worse as I've encouraged more of that to be delivered in the near future over something better I would prefer.

Based on what I know from gaming as of now the biggest chance any upcoming product to take my $ will be WOW: Legion, which would also help me extend my epic feat of not spending $ on a new product for 6+ years. I look forward though things to at least be different if not now at least early in 2017. Somebody has to come into the market with the same level of quality and ambition as Blizzard did with WOW. Now back to Path of Exile ;)

Why are you even here?  You really don't seem to enjoy this genre.  Maybe it's time for you to move onto different types of games or just get a new hobby altogether.

I'm more concerned with the fact that you're counting OP...Rough estimates sound less....desperate? idk.

Just report him for trolling and move on. His posts aren't worth the calories burned typing out a response to them.

If you waited all that time just to blow it on WoW: Legion everyone will make fun of you for the rest of your life.

Well you clearly aren't a customer that's worth the effort if it takes over 6 years between purchases.

Or .. why "wait" at all? Just enjoy those f2p games. It is not like the p2p ones are better (though better is clearly subjective).

You're not "waiting" for anything.  You've simply decided that you'd prefer to play new games for free rather than pay for them.  Making 10 threads about it doesn't change that.

If WoW: Legion is the best we can hope for then this genre really is in the toilet.
I remember people said that about all the expansion. The only one that live up to that Crown was Wrath of the Lich King. Some where at the end of the expansion as the start of that expansion was pretty bad.
