I enjoy grouping. Not rushing through dungeons, or exploiting bosses. Not rushing to end game to be top dawg on the server. I enjoy the company of others on voice comms. I want to explore the worlds, take in the sights. Have laughs and also do some pvp. If there is an area that gives less xp but different scenery, lets go there and not care. Create friendships with other players or new players instead of insulting them. Not a zerg, but a family of like minded individuals out for an adventure.
Where are my kind of people? Do you exist anymore?
Comments
The type of people you describe still exist in almost every game, you just need to find them.
I'm with such a group in EVE and I found them with no real difficulty.
You might consider joining a larger corporate guild such as Grievance, I've hooked up with them on several titles and they are always a pleasure to game with.

Everything now is designed around solo play unless it is some random instance dungeon that you que up for in an auto group finder.
I miss the days of people just coming together on their own and exploring the world together because it was the best and most fun way to play.
The reason why people like solo play is because:
1. Not everyone has ALL DAY or ALL NIGHT to sit online waiting for the people they need to log in, be available, etc.
2. Not everyone wants to play a game on a schedule.
3. People like being able to log in for the half hour they have free, and get something done.
4. Frankly, people don't like having their entertainment dictated by the wills and wants of others. In a group-oriented game, things like GearScore and DPS Meters become commonplace, and become the way by which other players are evaluated. People do not like getting declined for parties simply because you don't think their gear is good enough, or because they don't do enough damage...
Which BTW, could be improved if you'd just invite them to the instance they want to do, which drops the upgrades that would allow them to improve.
5. Group Play wastes time unless you can do 1: and 2:
Even Games with Group Finders often see players wasting an hour or more waiting for a queue pop for RANDOM dungeons. These aren't even specific dungeon requests, they just want to do SOMETHING. This is without group leaders vetting their Armory/Gear, Achievements, DPS/HPS/Tanking performance, etc. This is with the system warping you directly into the dungeon. This is with the game giving you free bonuses (Gold, XP, Tokens, whatever) for doing it...
Then you have to worry about issues with content getting older and less relevant as time goes on. Yes, you may need a great item out of an instance form the last patch, but does anyone else want to do it? Should they feel compelled to do it simply because you're their friend, even though they have tons of opportunities to instead go do other content they deem more relevant?
Remember when EQ Added Epic 1.5 and 2.0, and had to put a shortcut to skip the original Kunark Epic quests? Why do you think that was the case?
You "miss the days" when these games weren't par for the course in this market. These days, even FPS and other genres have many of the aspects that were "amazing" about games like EverQuest. There is no reason for people to waste their time exploring, because the formula hasn't really changed, ever, and nor will it for the foreseeable future.
The only thing the developers can do it put carrots on a stick to make people do it (Rare MOBs, Open Raid MOBs, etc.) and please tell me that isn't something dozens of games haven't already done since yesteryear...
This genre has hit its peak. Either you're playing one of the more popular ones as a long standing player, or you're being consistently disappointed by what's being released because what you're missing, isn't going to happen again. It's not possible because everyone has already done it and nostalgia is a feeling, not a thing. Even if the same thing exists, you still won't feel the same way about it.
Lastly, market demographics have changed. Many of the newer players are younger, grew up playing different types of games on various platforms/form factors, and have different priorities to you. They are more competitive and PvP oriented. For PvE they are predominantly raiders and speed runners.
They don't want to take 5 months to level to end game, even though they're totally find with spending 5 months farming BiS gear at max level, because max level at least opens more avenues of play for them (PvP, Arenas, Raids, Heroic/Mythic Dungeons, etc.).
The majority of people wailing for the "good old days" have cycled out of this genre. This is why games that have tried to replicate that have not been able to really capitalize on that share of the market. It's small, and shrinking. Either you upgrade your expectations, or you're always going to feel disenfranchised simply because developers won't waste that much money to cater to a few players who - honestly - don't even matter in the grand scheme of things.
Difference quests so can't group
Party full so can't play with other in instance dungeon
Lack of level so get left behind cause power gap and level restriction contents.
After nearly 20 years of developing MMORPG , why the **** all those annoying thing still here ?
and why social things like free trade , no bind , player create shop get remove ?
You could just as easily say developers are too lazy/cheap to include them.
You can prove players will buy games without them, but you can't know their motivations for doing so.
Perhaps players have just proven they will buy anything shiny and new, regardless of features.

There is a revival coming OP, do not lose heart!
Games like Star Citizen and others are pushing the limits of what PCs can do.
They are bringing back voice comms and grouping, inside enormous multiplayer worlds, with no quest givers or any BS mechanics like that.
