Through downtime, I find myself curious of what the discussion around the scuttlebut is, when it comes to Black Desert Online. All that I can say is, it is defintely entertaining. Well, actually, I can say more.
People get so passionate about their reviews, and that passion is typically hate. Not to be confused with dislike. One reveiwer is even creating fake accounts, utilizing a voice modifier, to attempt to get his dislike of BDO more known. It has become the new fad. However, to say something positive, you are called "fanboi" or some such term of giggly factors.
One thing that caught my eye, however, was how determined some people are, to get their face on the hate band wagon, as the biggest poster child of "I told you so." The guy trolling the BDO forums with multiple forum accounts, posting his video time and time again, for stance. The most found common denominator of these: they have little to no accuracy in their reviews, and only suddenly start these, when they, themselves admitting, are concerned of losing viewers. After all, bad news and hate attracts attention easier than liking something.
So, eat your heart out, viewers. I find your reviews to be
shallow and pedantic. They lack merit and scream, "look at me, only my opinion matters!" Your self-entitled approach is not the end all of every gamer, nor would we want that to be so.
With that said, take the reviews with a very wary approach. They are meant only to entertain, not inform. Thank you for reading.

Me personally I was all over it before it released, then I was really against the cash shop, but then after encountering even worse monetization models in the game I was playing (BnS), and weighing the pros and cons of how Daum is doing it, I rationalized that as it is right now is actually not so bad.
So I started playing it again (I had played it on a trial and the RU version), and honestly the game is pretty orgasmic for a long-time MMO player.
I'm trying to restrain myself from making gushing posts about the game, mostly cause I'm not at endgame yet and that's where it all seems to fall apart for a lot of people (although I will be soon with 2 weeks of xp buff and blackstones dropping off everything).
So even with just me, you've had someone gushing and raging and now on the verge of gushing again.
All of this is a good thing, I think. It proves the game is interesting, if nothing else, even to the haters.
If you don't like the game move on, focus on something positive.
Unless there is a hidden agenda behind those negative posts ....
Agree with OP
Many here like to mindless gank, while there they seem to manage to work together and not be a nuisance to any living being they come across.
Sounds like a serious case of fanboi-itis

If you are taken in by reviews then perhaps you have been accepting the wrong type of reviews or only focusing on those with a multitude of clever but ultimately shallow impressions. You must always read things with your own interest in mind so that you can decide whether in spite of the negatives you have read whether the game still appeals to you.
The reviews that come across as a rant, maybe even decrying something that is "working as intended".
Sort of like going to a slasher film and giving it a negative review because it has gore.

Aggregate review sites like Rotten Tomatoes for movies and Metacritic are a step above that in that they at least attempt to select sensible reviewers to count in their aggregate scores and the overall score shows patterns and trends. But even those still have to be taken with a grain of salt. I've enjoyed watching some rotten movies and have been bored by certified fresh ones and the same with Metacritic and games.
What's funny is that everyone should know this and still they make a huge deal when one single YT "reviewer" random dude farts.

Yeah, echo chambers are the best way to be well informed... not.

So if they say that a game is long and they think that's bad then that might not be bad for me. If they say it's grindy then that's a plus for me.
If they complain about graphics that is usually a non-issue for me (art design is more important).
In the end I usually make up my own mind based on what I'm looking for in a game.

Till you understand that reviews are simply opinion based, there's no harm is watching/reading them. If however you get reviewers that think they are talking for the majority of the people, ignore them.
