Ascension is coming to ArcheAge on May 31st, and that’s a pretty big deal. There’s plenty of reason to be excited about the imminent arrival of AA 2.9, and while the specifics of new features and functionality are still under wraps, we did manage to eke some info out of Executive Producer Merv Lee Kwai regarding the cool contests and in-game events that Trion will be staging next week in celebration of this huge new addition to their epic MMO.

    Has the relationship between mmorpg.com and Trion soured? I mean you would usually write review or post news on new content release of any mmo but for Trion's games it seems like you are doing sponsored content, which i assume is taking money to post news or article?

    Not quite. The sponsored stuff is more for visibility of the content, not the content itself. Visibility makes all the difference on a site with tons of news articles and features every day.

    Ahh i see. In that case i believe the article should have had more meat, like links to planned changes in content or link to details of castle system.     Archeage, the ultimate scam game. Seeing sponsored content mixed in with the news feed is a little disappointing... and disingenuous.

    if the game ever changes publisher,ill get back ingame,till then it doesnt matter what kind of content the game gets,i have no interest in it,the game is a master piece but i cant handle a bad publisher,tried to get back ingame few times,each time coming to server and seeing 3-4 people online,each time asking on global chat if any1 is even playing and never getting any answers tells me everything how the game is currently.........DEAD

    I love archeage. Every morning i feed my cow and gather milk also checking if he is healthy :D. No other mmo like archeage. I made my own content :D

    I honestly don't think this will save AA but rather drive more players away because it puts too much power in the hands of jerks by allowing player nations, and having 3 factions which can be part of the same player nation and such, not to mention the drama, and griefing...

    I got 25 days left on my accounts now waiting to see if the server actually improves or im dropping about 30 properties from the server as no one seems to want them...

    Maybe you are in the wrong server. In our server the raid always full and a lot of reds attacking our faction in world event, also no space for a land. Land is very expensive.

    Changing the publisher not gonna do anything for this game, it is how it is, difference between KR and NA is very minimal and NA client is heavily modified toward security now, core difference is that KR players pay less for cash shop items, NA players pay more same items, it is due to economy difference of KR and NA.

    Such is the way of a game that has even minimal sandbox feature and minimal player freedom. The idea is to give more options to players, what they do with it is their choice. As for server situation, i always said game like AA doesn't need more than 3 servers per region.

    Archeage is called the Ultimate fantasy sandbox mmo. It just not a sandbox only, you create your own government and make your own rules in your nation.

    Doubtful, its like this, this site makes money through people clicking on stuff. So the articles that they are going to post the most are ones that people click on the most. However, they also have to keep the site relevant and popular, so they post other kinds of news to, news that attracts fans of those games, in the hopes that their clicks become repeated clicks.

    Its why some of their stuff is really good, and other stuff is just click baity or panders to their predominant commentating crowd here.

    Stop advertising this game as a mmorpg. Its a gamble game based on luck rather then on work.
    Its a casino gamble game were you can not work towards something.
    For the player its not rewarding, its a frustrating experience if there is no luck :(
    Leave this game, the Koreans have ruined it before lauch already.

    If you make or found your own content you gonna love Archeage. Example: you bloodlust forever, stealing packs and don't care the faction, you can do that in Archeage. If you want to be a hero, you going to lead the raid and defend your faction. If you want to be a king, you have to be leader and conquer the territory.If you want to rule the seas and become a pirate king you can do that in archeage . Rng doesn't effect me in this game because i save a lot of gold and just buy in auction house. This people already old in archeage they don't care about people say bad in archeage because they found and make there own content.

    This game is a shit storm that requires duel wield credit cards. They put a pool ingame that costs $100 for PTW labor recovery. Just let this game die already. Was amazing before greed.

    I would give AA another go... if they would get rid of that crappy "HackShield" thing.
    Just find a better way to deal with bug user, cheaters and exploiters.

    They got rid off that about 8 months ago, hackshield is ancient history. it is still in the client folder because that is how XLGames package the game and provide it to Trion but Trion no longer uses it nor updates it.

    Hmmm, thank you for that information, if i can install and play ArcheAge without HackShield, i might give it a try again.

    Edit: Ok, they have replaced HackShield with GameGuard, but isn't that pretty much the same?

    I am on the same boat.
    I love Archeage but the Cash Shop is dreadful.

    Hmmm, thank you for that information, if i can install and play ArcheAge without HackShield, i might give it a try again.

    As i have said they are in the installation directory because that is how XLGames package their game. It is not used at all. But if it is being used in your computer i have no idea what is going on. Since neither of these programs run in my system when playing archeage.
