Is this for me?

I dislike having several hotbars filled with skills, mostly never used (looking at you WoW, EQ2 and FFXIV). Looking for a nice, fun PvE-oriented game, with emphasis on dungeons and group content (I love to heal or tank).

Hate grinding, though. Grind for me is the necessity to kill mindlessly mobs to be able to take on a new area or questline. It shows poor levelling design and it's subjectively what is wrong with most asian MMOs.

Great examples of grind games:

AION
ArcheAge
FFIX

So, is TERA for me?

TERA is a typical themepark MMO where you kill 20 of whatever and then move on to the next area.

Doesn't take too long to level up though and endgame dungeons are very fun.

    Less skills than WoW.

It is action combat, which is a lot different (and better imo) than tab target.

TERAs problem is mainly that the open world is insanely easy but otherwise it is a pretty good game. Not as good as GW2 though if you havn't tried it but above average.

Also, TERAs quests are generally bad and uninspired, like in most Asian games.

The combat system is pretty good, it is trinity based action combat.

Don't expect to be very different then anyone else from your class, you will be using same weapon and basically wear the same armor as well.

The cashshop is good, not so much pay2win as most other F2P games are.

My score is 3.5 of 5. Worth trying but far from perfect.
