Need some help over a sound/power problem

in Hardware
got myself a pair of astra a50 wireless headsets and plugged them into the pc . Pc didnt start . unplugged them and tried them on my ps4 . Worked fine  .so went back to the pc and heres the problem

if i leave the usb cable to the transmitter unplugged then the computer will start as soon as the fans kick over i can re plug the cable back in and it will work flawlessly  . 

I am out of ideas now astra and saying blame the pc but everything checked out i wa son the phone to the tech support for 2 hours this afternoon

I also unplugged all my other usb cables to lower the load to see if that was the problem  no change , but again as soon as i unplugged the cable it fired up .

Any ideas people

    What's your psu rated at? The only thing that makes sense to me is you have boot from USB higher in the boot order, and the Astra headset has some hacked method for drivers acting as a bootable device.

    well had a look and neither suggestion worked  i disabled all boot options apart from the two hd i have and still no joy have to wait for monday i think  btw the psu is corsair i believe its rated around 800w+ i went for over kill

    Actually could be a specific hardware conflict with this brand of headset/driver.  If you aren't absolutely in love with them, consider returning them and opting for another brand of headset.  Might solve the issue and save you a lot of pain.

    I assume you already tried multiple USB ports on the computer as well - may just be a bad port.

    Also, have you tried it with them connected to a powered USB hub?

    if there was a hardware conflict i would of thought i would of had problems with it under windows but i dont only in boot up also they are the only pair i have found i can wear for any length of time  so i would prefer to stick with them . as for the pc it is within the on site repair year so thats where we are probobly heading just got to wait until monday to give them a call again . 

    As for the powered hub , i dont have one but might pick a cheap one up tomorrow and try it .

    well plugged in the powered hub andd hey presto it worked , however i dont consider i have over loaded the usb hubs i only have keyboard mouse web came xboc wireless controller and bluetooth transmitter . so see what they say on monday

    All of the USB ports on the front and back of your computer are powered by the motherboard.  Many devices that plug into USB ports also draw the power they need to operate from those ports.

    A Web Cam is almost certainly drawing power.  The Bluetooth transmitter is absolutely drawing power.  The Xbox controller is drawing power, if the transmitter is plugged into the USB device.  Some modern keyboards draw a lot of USB power, some even require two USB ports.

    Headphones that plug directly into USB, are probably drawing more power than the rest of those.  The drivers for cans, especially for low end tones, take a lot of power.  My guess is that the motherboard simply can't handle the power requirements to the USB ports.  Some motherboards won't even start booting if there's a power issue.  These are usually on the cheap end of boards.

    i did try booting with all the other usb unplugged and still did not work with just the headphones plugged in stil did not kick in , should mention its a evga x99 micro board might that be the problem sinc ei had no trouble with my other pc. Also its a OC machine so the main chip would draw more power as well

    well got the powered hub plugged it in and it works , however it look unsightly , is it the psu or is it due to the amount of usb slots to headers

    You could always use the USB hub for your Usb devices near your monitor, while the others plugged into the computer. Then tuck the hub away.

    It's due to some weird hardware conflict that happens sometimes. It doesn't necessarily mean your headphones are broke, or your computer is broke. They just don't like each other for whatever reason.
