Remind me since when SWTOR , Tera and Blade & Soul are P2P !
Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy? Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
yeah i think ESO and FFXIV should have been there , maybe even gw2 too , i tho tera was almost dead and L2 ? lolwhat? so many ppl playing still? classic server was a failure isnt it?
Why does it have multiple F2P games lumped in with WoW on the P2P list?
Because they have optional subscriptions.
Just goes to show you, all the titles that allow you to play for free but give you extras for subbing still outperform most of the locked titles that force you to pay it to access.

TERA financials show the game makes a ton of money. One of the MMOs actually given traction on Steam even. Also it is Lineage I not Lineage II. Lineage I has remained one of the most profitable MMO games in the world since release.
Thing with Tera is that people don't understand why it's so profitable, they think it's just Tera North America.
Tera
runs in many regions, there are around 6 different versions of Tera
running right now and they are all seperate and funneling money back to
the developer. It's one the most profitable modern mmo titles running.
Given how profitable it is, it's maddening that they put so little
effort into the updates.
Q: What type of data do we have and where do we get it? A: Every month we collect the spending data of millions of unique paying online gamers directly from publishers and developers, totaling 50+ publishers and 500+ game titles. Q: What do we do with the data? A: We clean, aggregate, and analyze these data to establish market benchmarks for all segments of digital games, then build title-level models to speak to the KPIs of top performing games Q: How do we analyze data? A: We combine the digital point-of-sale data with qualitative consumer insights to speak to the “why” of the market. Q: What do we send to you? A: Our research covers everything from worldwide genre benchmarks to title-level KPIs, country-level deep dives to brand equity.
Remember this is a guess.
If they got actual - game level data - from publishers they wouldn't need steps 2 to 4.
Basically its a case of is WoW still bigger than L1? The safe answer is yes so that is 1 and 2.

No $$$ numbers either is this the new norm?
I think that if NCSoft reopened Lineage servers globally again it might actually give WoW a run for its money. The grind has been softened and it's the sort of quality PvP many western gamers have been begging for. It's just a 2.5D sprite based game. That seems to be a hangup in our graphics enamored culture.
would you happen to have any references to the statement of :
'The grind has been softened and it's the sort of quality PvP many western gamers have been begging for'
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Remind me since when SWTOR , Tera and Blade & Soul are P2P !
They are pretty bad at categorizing and most of their data are horse shit but sometimes, some times they do give some valuable information regarding spending trend of players in games.
Nice to see SWTOR up there. /sticks tongue out at all those people who said the game would be dead in awhile. So much for all the doom predictions.
If we are talking about if the game is making money then yes, it is one of the healthiest game in market, you can always thank people who spend thousands upon thousands of $ in cartel market for it.
Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.
You should be really ashamed of yourself even bring this crap up. Your topic is misleading also simply because you made this into a statement which should not read Wow still on top 2016. What it should have been read as Wow still on top 2016???? Your data is misleading because the website evidently doesn't know the meaning behind the P2P nor F2P or hybird and that's plain to see for any players who have played any of the games listed under Wow. By this site's logic we can compare the income of a billionaire to someone who is on SSI or Food Stamps.
BRUHAHAHAHA SWToR, TERA and BnS are NOT P2P games, so lets shove the whole article right now...
Have you tried playing SW:TOR as a non-sub? Let's see I can level and... uh, nope, that's about it. Oh wait, get reminded how subbing makes the pain go away every time your toon breathes.
Heck you can't even access the latest expansion without a sub.
And just to be extra hateful non-subs have a currency cap. Currency earned once you've accumulated enough to hit the cap goes into an "escrow". You can pay RL money for a consumable for a one time withdrawal of some of the funds in your escrow. Once you use that extra you have to pay again. There is no permanent unlock.
Back at launch it wasn't too awful but changes made in the 4.0 expansion caused rampant inflation. Non-subs are persona non gratis in SW:TOR. Basically sub or die.

SWTOR has a hybrid model with both sub and f2p options. However the f2p models main purpose is to encourage people to become subscribers. And it is working. Especially after KotFE release many f2p players turned into subscribers.

Now your going to call optional subscriptions P2P? So people can't play Tera, Swtor and Blade n' Soul for free, without paying a subscription, oh wait they can.
Once again Superdata is a super joke.

Yes, their categorization sucks, but isn't it a little extreme to call their entire company a "super joke" on that basis alone? I mean you're ignoring the fact that they post some rather useful hard data on gaming, which is often hard to come by.

You have no logic here.
Yes, an optional sub is still a subscription. Why is this hard to understand?
I'm guessing you do in-fact understand it, you just don't like it.

They don't know wtf a MMO is. Kinda makes any guess work data they have pretty useless.
MOBA's are not MMOs, 5v5 is just multiplayer.

Just putting this out there. Massively Multiplayer Online. MOBAs are massively multiplayer, it's just that those massively multiplayer populations don't play with each other most of the time but they are playing the same game online at the same time.

I'm trying to comprehend your logic or the lack of it. I can't..
An optional sub is still a sub paid with MONEY.
Plus in SWTOR's case in order to have access to the KotFE expansion you need a subscription. Freeloaders are locked out. The majority of the games population right now consists of subscribers.
