Meh.... only went to watch it to see Travis Fimmel since he stars in Viking.
The cinematography was a huge miss, Toby Kimble killed off too soon.
Dominic Cooper I expected better, did you all not see "The Devil's Double?"
Ben Schneider was not at all convincing as Kradgar. It was painfully annoying when he kept repeating "Guardian" throughout the whole film. Actually "Guardian" was just so over used in the film.
No need for attention...but a call against all tha BS critics saying the movie is not good. IT IS A GOOD MOVIE. very well done...a pleasure to watch too...amazing effects. Srry to bother you waynjr2....no even need to reply me.
I though it was alright, not amazing, not horrible, just alright. The term Guardian was used as much as many other movies use the term 'Chosen One' and it was just as cheesy. My son and I enjoyed how the lore played out, but we also liked that they didn't spell out what was happening. You need to pay attention. For those that don't understand when a significant event happens because the characters don't initiate or engage in dialogue over the event, they will disappointed.

I got what was happening and loved seeing places in the game brought to life. Seeing the attempt to bring the lore into the movie was an awesome head nod but it was just so boring. Knew what was going to happen. No plot twists and I only felt invested in one character, the slave orc girl. Just bad story telling.
Blizzard/WoW fanboys need to let the world know how good the movie was..for them..for all the rest of the world this movie was a massive disappointment.
If only game critics were anything like movie critics. We'd be long done with all Blizzard's cashgrab games with no innovation nor depth.

Well I did reply. There are other threads on this movie.

Since this thread keeps popping up i'll keep replying in the same way.
The CGI was literally the only thing good about the movie. Considering every battle consisted of Orcs vs Humans, it felt more like a bad Warhammer movie than a WoW one. The movie was so fragmented and dropped so many names it left any non WoW fan in the dust. The fans were equally disappointed since the movie lacked any classes besides warrior and well....warrior. Khadger's acting was about as good as Anakin's in Star Wars lol. Most anticlimactic ending ever, the list goes on.
Im going to have to disagree with the majority of you, I have been playing WOW since beta testing. The movie was very well done and the sheer accuracy of all the cities and locations was astonishing. This movie details the birth of the "Horde" prior to the other horde races being united under one banner. So on that note of course the focus was on orcs they started it. Subsequent movies will come to include others races, I do hope we see more from Blizzard.
I never played WoW. Many others, but not WoW. Wife and I went to the movie, and I have to say, there are a lot of people around here with an extremely negative mindset. You go to the movies to be entertained. Sometimes, you even get to feel or learn something. This wasn't a movie with depth. If you expected it to be, then I believe you might not have a the ability to infer what it's meant to be - a CGI fest with fights set in a fantasy world.
Dialogue was poor, but at least to the point. It didn't have huge logic gaps. The CGI was great. The settings were spectacular. The spells were neat and well done. The plot was standard, but still had a touch of uniqueness considering the entire thing had racial tones. The climax and conclusion were both on point.
I see no reason to bash this movie, unless you couldn't figure out and set expectations accordingly. To me, it was entertaining, as it was to my wife. But, I guess we all set our own expectations; I did for The Hobbit and was gravely disappointed. Maybe because I had no allegiance to WoW or inner knowledge it allowed me to walk in with a clean slate.

I being a gamer, loved this movie. the locations and building layout were accurate as well as all the hidden easter eggs for people like me who grew up playing Warcraft: orcs verse Humans. The fight scene in the very beginning is omage to every first custscene in Warcraft :P so there

You're right again Jocko. Oh wait, no you're not. By box office standards the movie is a success. Over 200 Million opening weekend. Low numbers in the US but did great in other countries.
By looking at your comments, you specifically look for threads related to WoW and bash them. Seems to me you have a hard on for WoW.

The camera always seemed to be too close up, this irritated the hell out of me.
I wish they could have paned out of EVERYTHING.
If this were fixed, I would have given it a 7.5 instead of a 6.5 out of 10.
For me Movie was 9/10 overall

A 10 year old from another family seated with us overheard and said it was "the best movie ever!"
Good enough for me, definitely will find time to go see it.
