I don't think this had anything to do with gender, but rather an 80% win rate. That's suspicious in any online competitive game.

I don't play Overwatch currently, so I don't know how it works with matchups etc. But if you always play perfectly picked premades, that isn't so exceptional either.

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

Who CARES? And what kind of a stupid pud thinks they're so right that they bet their future in gaming on it?

However, having said that, was the purpose of this article simply to tweak their noses as they head for the doors? Scold them publicly for what has been after-the-fact branded as misogyny? What if they had been right? Would you still have written this hit piece at all?

What bothers most people about a good deal (but not all) of girl gamers remains: the propensity of many 'big names' to don low-cut tops and trade exposition for page hits/watch counts, and to fly their femininity from the hilltops like a banner, getting uppity, offended and pretentious at a time of their choosing, knowing that - no matter what - a barracks of white knights will rush to their defense.

Many girl gamers don't want equality - they desire supremacy; they don't just want to be part of the team, but the central focus of any group that they're in. And this is why there are so many all-girl teams; so many all-female twitch streams and Youtube channels. Exclusivity by one sex shouldn't be supplanted by that of another, and yet so many girl gamers seem to believe that that is the only reasonable outcome. The goal of feminism should be equality... not bludgeoning the opposite sex into silence.

Obviously, as previously stated, this doesn't apply to everyone, or even a majority, but it has unquestionably altered the general outlook of most male gamers regarding members of the fairer sex who play (which is why so many youtube videos/articles/etc. denigrating and documenting the behavior exist). A slim minority they may be, but the female gamers who act this way are so prominent that unabashed, squealing narcissism has become the defining characteristic of their demographic... and "HAHA! YOU LOSE! SHE REALLY IS THAT GOOD! GIRL POWAH!" articles like this do NOTHING but reinforce that stereotype.

its overwatch pretty sure the pros don't care really about this game much, 3 things I saw on the video, a possible nerf will happen soon on her char, don't need to aim and explode on impact, she is a hop bunny player so certanly don't get points with me, and people will not learn to counter her hard
FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and for some money.

The jumping made it infinitely worse. I got about 3 minutes into the actual feed and cut it off. If this kind of gimmicky idiocy has provided her with an excellent win rate, good for her, I guess. But I wouldn't be caught dead doing it myself.

No matter the gender of either... I love it when some troglodytes get their noses rubbed in the shit they lay.

Now if we can just get a chip inserted in everyone that give them a slight electroshock when they are arseholes and we would be on the way to the perfect society. =) =P

This have been a good conversation

Who seriously challenges a Korean's game-playing ability to start with?

All Koreans are amazing video game players.
    All Asians are artists.
    All Australians are CG gurus.

I thought these things were just common knowledge on the internet.  Yes, this article was so pointless and not-newsworthy that it reminds of the kind of crap they put on the Today show.

I think Korean girls are awesome at video games I have watched so many dramas where they kick the snot out of these boys who think girls cannot play better than them.

The never ending battle of legit players, known cheats and hackusations. If a game has cheats, which ALL FPS games do, than you should just accept the fact if you are good, you will be accused. Consider it the best form of flattery.

I think there was some kind of "honor code" at play here that we, as western gamers, don't really understand - the 'fall on the sword' dynamic at the end was as important as the actual accusation (and please keep in mind: I love love LOVE Japan/Taiwan/South Korea - this isn't a swipe against them, by any means, but rather just an acknowledgment that cultural variations will cause people to behave differently based on where they are from).

I dont see anything that says she 100% wasnt cheating. We dont know background programs and we dont see keystrokes for example.

There are more cheaters that try to act like they are good players than there are actual good players these days. I am suspicious of everyone when it comes to FPS. I know the scene very well and know how easy cheats are to use and hide.

They quit......until they come up with a new name and ID and "break out" onto the scene.

    /sarcasm

Whose to say she wasnt cheating before, not like I care; but I'm very suspicious of people who go out there way to look even more legit after being "cleared"

    Gimmicky idiocy?

You realise that she is predicting the opponents shot placement and that nearly every movement she makes is a result of those predictions, right? Her ability to read tells from an opponent is top notch.

You don't get an 80% win rate by being good at bunny hopping. Anyone with even a modicum of experience in the competitive first person shooting scene would be blissfully aware of this fact.

Probably a good idea to better educate yourself before you chime in on this subject again, as it's blatantly obvious that you're not very well informed.

It's Overwatch. Go play yourself to see why an 80% win rate is very achievable even as a casual.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

I thought she was predicting too.  You know how people are they like to slight things they cannot do because they are jealous. So best to just put her down instead, typical.

Since I watch so much Korean dramas I could understand some of what she said and that was fun for me to watch and listen.

And once again, gender is brought front and center despite the fact that it never had anything to do with this story in the first place.

If the accused were a male gamer, would his gender have been part of the headline? I'm guessing not. In fact, it probably wouldn't even be specifically mentioned anywhere in the article, merely inferred through the use of gender-specific pronouns. Which is how it should be, but nope! Suzy just has to point out the poor gamer girl being picked on by those mean, vicious closet Gamergate supporting men! It can't be because they genuinely thought she was cheating, no! It's because she's a girl! That's it! Men are evil! EVIL!!

She was bouncing around like a kangaroo on crack even when nobody was shooting at her. Probably a good idea to get your eyes checked before you chime in on this subject again, as it's blatantly obvious that you're incapable of actually seeing the video.

She's obviously very skilled, but let's call a spade a spade here. Disagreeing is fine, but acting like a condescending jackass about it is uncalled for.

AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

Your post is ironic. The point is that her movements are advanced, skilled, and next level. You may not like it because it's not aesthetically pleasing, or in your opinion, useless.. but this is simply not the case. It's used to dodge incoming attacks. Is some of it preemptive? Sure.. That's kind of the point. She's going to be incredibly hard to hit, and her aiming is insanely accurate.

If you play any FPS at a high level, things like this are commonplace. There's nothing wrong with being that person who manually clicks their skills in WoW, instead of using hotkeys, but calling someone an idiot because of their play style, is moronic at best. This is not even mentioning the fact that Zarya is a high skill cap hero in the game.

Yes, yes, that must be it: I'm butthurt over a game I've never played, in a genre that I haven't touched in three years. You've definitely got me pegged.

She was bouncing around like a kangaroo on crack even when nobody was shooting at her.

Yup, there are multiple times even in the first 10 minutes of that video where she and her team are just standing around waiting for enemies and she's still doing a bad impression of Disney's Tigger. But, hey, I suppose that's just her force sensitivity kicking in - this girl is so powerful in the dark side that she can predict where those shots fall 2 minutes in advance, and there's nothing like getting your routine down before the shooting actually starts.
