This MMO reminds me of those games at Chucky Cheese when my kids were young.  The one with the furry rodents that keep popping up and then you whack them on the head with a hammer and they vanish again.

    Whack a Mole, yeah kinda.

I have no idea how they are going to handle this release. Were they even testing the game prior before charging now? I played the other DFO alpha and it was working pretty well, but from what I gathered they were testing for a while. Also wasn't this version supposed to have different things in it? I just don't get how they are launching it this fast.

First company released an alpha, but ended up leaking the source code to hackers by not following proper protocol. This set back both companies a month or so. New Dawn is starting a 3 week free stress test starting next Tuesday. Very few changes have been made to the original darkfall but some very good changes have already been made. After the 3 week free stress test, they will charge a sub for the test server only because people begged to be able to play it. After they are done w/ test server there will be another free period before launch for people to check out the changes to the game.

While I doubt it will just be European, they probably put the price in Euros because they are a European company.

Wow, going for a monthly sub on a game that's failed how many times now? Way to learn from others' mistakes.

Well at least it's not in the hands of Aventurine anymore, who were leeching on government funds for years, until everything went to hell in Greece (and Aventurine along with it lol).

The people I know who used to play Darkfall were mostly 30+ actually and there was definitely not a lack of maturity. It's certainly not my kind of game, but just because some people like something more hardcore, that doesn't make them immature kiddies.

In fact the immature kiddies could never handle a game like this. It requires a mature adult to handle the constant loss and huge risk you'll experience and pick yourself up to go back to grind some more of it without raging every day.

Rebooting a game that failed just seems braindead.  The game was bad because of the design, not because of Adventurine's mismanagement.  It just seems rather foolish to spend money on something like this game when there are far better games out there from some of the new indie studios.

Saying there are far better games out there makes no sense because they are different games, there is no game out currently like DF nothing even close......

The people that will by and play this game are looking for an experience that is available no where else.

You can't seriously believe that, there are a ton of new indie pvp games that while early access are light years better than Darkfall any day of the week.   Get out and look what is available.  Darkfall is probably one the worst designed MMO's ever and thinking these guys have the expertise to fix bad code is ludicrous.

If I'm correct there are no MMO (or early access future MMO) offering the kind of PvP Darkfall had: large scale PvP with decent performances, physics based projectiles, very responsive and fluid combat, skill-based and twitchy (no aiming assistance afaik).

I dont understand how people can say this game failed. I played it for 2 or so years with ALOT of fond memories of huge battles over cities. The world felt incredibly alive during most of that time. It had player houseing and amazing sea battles. If you were good at it, it was very fun. Granted it took me months to get good enough with my binds to go one on one with good players, but everyone had access to the same skills and gear. To this day its the only game I could outsmart 10 people and drag them out enough to kill some of them. I played darkfall to the fullest so I probably won't play these reboots but to call darkfall a failed game is ignorant and just shows you just couldn't compete. Played from the launch of NA and have been told it was even bigger during the EU days.
