They left out the pictures of the display drivers crashing all of my favorite games

Looking at my entire library of steam games, I can't find a single one that supports DX12. I guess my point is - what dx12 games?
The good ones kek. JK, there's not really a whole lot that support it now. Might have something to do with nvidias market share. There's a few upcoming games I want that support it... battlefield 1, deus ex, recore, and eso should support it sometime in the future.

GOW, Forza, QB, Total War Warhemmer, AotS, Hitman and later this year Deus Ex, Civilization 6, Battlefield 1 just to name a few. Almost all major release this year already have or will have DX12

Yeah, if you dont play new games and dont intend to play new games youre fine with NVidia. But if you do...good luck lol

Can tell who's ignorant by who thinks nVidia driver quality is significantly better than AMD driver quality...

I gave NVidia a year to sort out their DX12 driver and it actually gets worse with each new DX12 release.

They just have to do a quick google search and find thousands of imgur and similar image pics from forum posts of the ~15 horrible Nvidia driver releases in the past 1.5 year.

At one point if i remember correctly it was so bad that 3 drivers in a row did not fix all the problems from the first one.

    And 2/3 were WHQL, :)

Devs are giving Nvidia the middle finger by constantly utilizing Async Compute  I bet Nvidia would be ecstatic if those pesky devs just stopped using async all-together until Nvidia releases a gpu series with more shaders than AMD and ones that are better optimized at all points of shaders usage

But what about the 6-pin PCI-E power connectors?  I want to see if it has two of them.

    It has 1 8 pin.

I hope they don't do that with newegg. That is one of the dumber things I've seen. Although I just want a card at stock clocks. So I guess whatever OC they put on is just a bonus.

Although couldn't the clocks be guessed based on the TDP?

I think with the 8 pin there would be quite a bit more room for user overclocking too.

Too bad it's made by Sapphire.  I've purchased 3 Sapphire cards over the years, and two of them have died.  One is an anomaly; Two is a trend.

When I contacted them to see if I could get some help towards buying a replacement for my 6870 (It was barely out of warrantee, but the card burned out because of how it was assembled, something I could have fixed myself in 10 minutes if I had seen it), I was treated as poorly as I have ever been with a customer service agent, including being called an idiot, something only my wife is allowed to do.  This of course is the main reason I will never buy another card from them.

I'll wait for the XFX version.

I've been using sapphire cards for over a decade. Only one died within it's expected lifetime, which was replaced under warranty with a newer generation since the older one wasn't being made anymore.

Just recently had the replacement die, but it was way over it's expected lifetime at 8 years.

i've currently been using 2 x sapphire R9 290x TriOC or something since like mid 2014, haven't had an issue once...

on the other hand i had 2 x EVGA GTX 780's die within about 3 weeks of each other after 8 months of use

and i had to have an XFX 580 RMA'ed 3 times before i gave up and swapped it to a gainward which was amazing..

i also had a gigabyte 5870 or something i forget the actual model number which was complete trash

and basically anything Asus i've bought has always been brilliant. That being said no issues with sapphire here... it's all chance.

This seems to be the norm rather than the exception.  Too bad EVGA doesn't make AMD cards.  They actually have a reputation for outstanding customer service.  I feel your pain here.

At any rate, it should be interesting to see what these AIB partners can do with this chip.  AMD fumbled a bit with power, but custom BIOSes and different power configurations should make the aftermarket cards (like that Nitro) really great little cards, especially for DX12 games.

I was the unlucky one with the assembly of my 6870.  The splurt of thermal grease was only in contact with half of the GPU, and when I peeled back the heat sink to see what was the problem, the GPU was burnt on the ungreased part.  There were three memory chips that had only a spit of grease on them, that were obviously not being cooled.

If this was the only bad Sapphire card I had, it would be one thing.  But this was the second one.  The first, a 4670, was assembled with bad grease that flaked off of the heat sink when I removed it to see if the GPU was worth saving, which it was not.

But worse than either of these was my horrific experience with their customer service.  People that treat me that badly (and no one else has ever been that bad) don't get my money.

Oh i'm with you 100% on that man, the customer service in your experience was disgusting... i've never had to deal with them obviously but if that was my experience i wouldn't touch them again also. but as far as performance goes... i can't speak badly about these bad boys, they have been simply amazing.. but after 2 years they are starting to get a bit dated :P Bring on the HBM cards already!!!

yeah.. after spending something like $1400 AU on EVGA cards that lasted all of 8 months.. my experience with them is far from exceptional.. especially when i was told 6 - 8 week RMA time, i had my old 680's at home still but thats far from the point... i ended up buying the sapphire R9 290x's after the debacle.. got 2 for something like $870 and haven't looked back...

I like Asus too.  Aside from a few necessary BIOS updates to address an issue or two, I haven't had any issues.  MSI is my "don't like" brand.  My friend won't buy XFX, and my other friend won't touch Gigabyte.  Sorry to hear about your experience with EVGA.  I personally have never had to deal with them as I've never had issues with any of their products, but they generally have a good Customer Service and RMA reputation.  Could be worse, I suppose.  At least you didn't have to call Comcast.

ASUS was the go-to brand for years, and then in the early 2000's their quality went straight down the tubes.  The best thing that ever happened to ASUS was that GIGABYTE bought them.  Now they are labeling their best parts with the ASUS brand, and I am back to being an ASUS motherboard fanboy, and drooling over their ROG products.
