I just found out about SC a couple of days ago. I really like the concept of the game.

I have been doing a lot of researching, and most I found was the war between the haters and fans.
This video is funny, and I only have been at this for a few days.

Still on the fence in supporting a basic package, might start new thread asking questions about it.
But I lost my old account here (mmorpg), and had to start a new one.

Whenever it does officially launch you will no longer be able to purchase ships legally in the store. You will have to earn them in game. Ships are considered a bonus for helping out the game with funds before it's done. So if you want a ship buy it, if you don't care what one you have, just wait.

Thanks for the simple advise, but I will need more than that.
Please let me create a new thread and you can say why, not just a command.
I do not want my questions on the OP post.

    Thank you for understanding.

People act like they have to give up their first born to support SC.  In reality, it's the cost of a game.  There's Squadron 42 (which can be purchased as a stand alone $45 package) or you can pay $60 and get the other stuff too like access to the PTU now and a ship to fly.  Sure there are packages that cost thousands of dollars, but they are simply not necessary for the overwhelming majority of players.  The haters versus backers fight is retarded.  Back it if you like it, keep your money if you don't.  No one criticizes the type of soda I buy, yet choosing to toss $60 to a game I like somehow makes me worthy of criticism.  Ridiculous.

Haha.  I'm way too cheap for that.  It's Diet Rite all the way for me!

I'd wait for a holiday sale and get a low price starter pack which would allow you to login and checkout the game.  At the rate it's going you have plenty of time before this game launches.

As a backer of SC I personally would wait till it's release to buy.

S42 is due out this year, SC should be out next year.

I am also a backer and I semi-agree with this post.

I too would advise to wait until release to buy unless you want a fancy ship when you start playing.

S42 is due this year but don't hold your breath on it actually coming out then. The actual full SC will in no way shape or form come out in 2017. It's not gonna happen unless some super programmers do God's work to get it out by then. I'm a big fan (not a Fanboy) of this game and even I can see this.

i'm disappointed because at the end the rabbit didn't say "have fun" or i missed it, either way someone needs to amend the video if it is indeed missing.

Hey you cut the clip short. The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch always gets him in the end.

Well tossing the Holy Grenade would equal a release of the game - obviously that will be delayed for as long as they possibly can.

If things weren't so sketchy and unnerving, than I wouldn't bother to comment. I just don't want to see crowdfunding get smacked back into oblivion if this game flops. I would love to SC succeed, but I honestly don't think it will. I mean, it will launch, but it sure won't be what people are expecting it to be.
I don't know what makes you so sure it will release. The game is so far from having even one (out of dozens) of promised features finished that I think it's unlikely that it will ever see the light of day. Although, to be honest, dogfighting itself isn't that bad in SC if they fix all the bugs, but it will not be enough to keep the game afloat. The only question is whether it will go the information embargo into cancellation route of Everquest Next or perpetual development route of DayZ. The second option is most probable because it's the safest... well, they're already there. There's another, most disastrous option, where they keep pushing in microscopic or fake patches for another 2 years and then push the game out in basically the same state it is now and say "we kept our promises, it's finally out!". There will be a shitshow, but it will probably allow CR and Co. to embezzle the largest amount of money by cutting the spendings as early as possible. Well, time will tell.

Yeah, the issue is that it will release in an extremely underdeveloped state. It will upset and enormous amount of people if that happens.
