I have looked at Valkyria MANY times, came close to buying, but just not sure i will like a game based on modern weapons of war, that sort of bores me since i have played thousands of hours of COD and similar games.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Bought: Delver Salt Empyrion Galactic Survival PULSAR: Lost Colony
As for the last two(Empyrion and PULSAR) i find them very fun, but imo i need someone or more to play them with... and kinda just wanna play those two until No Man's Sky is out.
Let me rattle off a few for you that have eaten up an inordinate amount of my time:
1) Banished 2) The Long Dark 3) Long Live the Queen (so kawaaaiiiiii). 4) Recettear 5) Valkyria Chronicles (best RPG since FFVII, hands down; I've been playing RPGs since FFVI on the SNES, and VC makes my top 3 with ease). 6) Shogun II: Fall of the Samurai (IMO best all around game in the TW series).
Most of those are currently well under $10, and I can't rate any of them under an 8/10. Valkryia Chronicles itself is one of the best games of its type... period, and is probably the best turn-based strategy RPG of all time (yes, I rate it above FFT). It has a beautiful, heartbreaking story and, as icing on the cake, there's a superb anime you can watch after you've finished, which only further fleshes out the plot. You cannot lose with that one.
Just do yourself a favor: play it in the original Japanese. The American voice actors are passable, but they can't hold a candle to the all-star cast fielded by the Nippon studio.
Been a really disappointing sale this year. Hardly find anything I wanted
And here I've bought more than any previous year. About my only disappointment was that Folk Tale wasn't knocked down to ~$10. I'm not paying anything over that for a pre-release game with only so-so reviews.
I also just purchased Fault - Milestone One, Dust: An Elysium Tale, and Transistor - all three had been on my wishlist for a while, and with the sale ending in 5 hours, I figured what the hell. The MMO landscape is so barren right now, I'm going to need single player content to tide me over until Christmas.
I just hope I can get away with playing Dust without having to buy a controller. I'm not sure I'm cut out for platformers via a keyboard. We shall see.
Just added Don't Starve, NEO Scavenger, Invisible Inc and Pillars of Eternity to my library. And like @DMKano, god only knows when I'll get round to playing them.

Same, but, hey, you never know. I managed to get through all 50 some-odd hours of Valkyria Chronicles a couple of months ago... and I hadn't finished a single-player RPG in over a decade (my last attempt, curiously enough, was Skies of Arcadia, whose two protagonists make cameos as recruitable characters in VC) - and I dropped that at about the 30 hours mark, as I recall.
Some games are simply too good to put down. And one of the nice things about Steam is, their player reviews do a pretty good job of showcasing great games (with that glittering 'Overwhelmingly Positive' rating) and steering you clear of the bad.

13,000 games for sale ... this is truly amazing ....
Yeah truly amazing that it's the same shit as all other sales they have on discount. Only thing added are a lot of shitty early access games - I even saw a RPGMaker game in early access

*Shrug*.
Most of us aren't blessed with endless wealth, and actually rely on the sales to populate our libraries. What may be 'old news' to you is, for the rest of us, 'wow, I've been waiting for a chance to play that!'
Just now bought Valkyria Chronicles, also wanted to get Mordheim: City of the Damned but will have to wait for next sale.
Couple of quick Valkyria Chronicles tips:
- Don't look up any guides. The moment you start to figure out the game's ins and outs, it goes from challenging to the softest and spongiest of cake. It's better to arrive at that point naturally than steamroll the experience.
- Don't judge it from the first mission. It's a tutorial, even though the narrative doesn't tell you as such. The third mission is the first semi-complex task you'll actually face.
I'd love to hear what you think about it once you've gotten into it a ways. And the anime is definitely worth watching (but wait until you've beaten the game).
Truth be told, I'm such a VC fanboy, I spent a dozen hours and well over $100 to custom design and build the Edelweiss out of Lego.

Was about to look up some guides then I read this. I guess I won't be doing that.
On another note, is anyone else here bugged by how Bethesda removed the Skyrim: Legendary Edition and repackaged it as something a lot more expensive? D*ck move to be honest.

Funny however since i got it for 15 that entire same set about 9 months ago and now during a SALE campaign the price goes up 3 bucks lol.
Still at 18+ tax so likely 20 bucks,it is a great game, can't wait for part 2 in November.

Anyone play this one yet? Looks a bit like Far Cry and BioShock mixed together to me.
