Another survival clone? Wow looks like the MMO industry a few years ago, everyone just copying WoW.

It's not necessarily a survival clone. It's a Battle Royale which isn't a survival game in the Day Z sense, it's more of a survival against other players in a group of 50 to 100 whoever is the last standing wins the battle royale like the hunger games. It's also not really a clone if they were the ones that made the modes in the other games as well.

If they released for once a battle royal game instead of eternal early access, it would be such a nice game mode.

There's fps for people that wants some quick shooting, Mobas for people that want strategic lane fights and there would be games with Battle Royale for those that want something akin to the Hunger Games or the Battle Royale movie.

Oh this guy has been able to sell his blueprint mod to a big publisher for a 3rd time, good for him.

I wonder if he has bothered innovating the mode any or if it’s still hide in a bush for 45mins if you want a chance at winning the match.

Also standalone? I guess this make or break his blueprint for this mod's future... Arma sold on its long running series, H1Z1 on the survival game hype, how has the recent king of the hill standalone sold? Not hear any big news on sales.

Well Armas Battle Royale mode is played quite a bit I know this because a lot of my friends are super into it and I've seen the large amount of servers hosting it.

H1Z1 on the other hand having two seperate modes, King of the Hill and Survival like you mentioned, the King of the Hill mode currently has 12k active players at this second on steam stats, while the survival mode has 3.2k. So it's doing quite a bit better than the survival mode by a large gap.

There has been at least one Battle Royale stand alone that I know of that did pretty well on launch which was The Culling. I've played at least 30 hours or so of it and had a lot of fun, it lost a lot of the community just because of the fact that the devs keep changing massive parts of the game like swing speeds, and damage of everything, even drops on the map.

Isnt every PvP game, a survival game?
Are you not trying to survive from other players killing you?

Isn't H1Z1 King of the Kill already out? I thought it was.

    How about a twist

Players play zombies trying to hide from survivalist humans who are roaming around collecting weapons and ammo and hunting zombies.

I believe there is already a steam game where you are the monster/zombie and have to do just that, go after the humans.

Cant remember the name now though :(

Funny thing, in the past week or two I've had the urge to sub to DAoC for a month or so to get a DAoC fix :D

Survival games are usually about more than killing people, it's not an eternal death match. People build, you have to forage, cook/eat, there are wildlife dangers (wolves/bears/dinosaurs/zombies etc).

I've been playing life is feudal for a little while now, haven't had a single PVP encounter yet TBH.  The peopel I have seen have been nothing but helpful and communal.

Nexon's Combat Arms game has a mode where 1 person is randomly chosen to be the infected and they must run around infecting everyone else before they get killed.

it actually came from Counter Strike, nexon just copyed it,but currently many games have that,left4dead 2,counter strike 1.6,counter strike source, counter strike global offensive, counter strike nexon online, combat arms and so on ....
