...and soon another year and eventually so will my life as I wait for this thing called a MMORPG that is supposed to be a video game about a world where I can immerse myself in, choose from many classes and professions to role play with, socialize with the players as I explore further the world through trade, quests or other conflicts. Oh wait it can't be done because it's too hard, too complicated, costs too much $, and many out there prefer repetitive multiplayer experiences or story driven single player games that consume them like every other entertainment I've already gotten so sick of through the last 25 years.

Thank you SOE for delivering SWG where I could truly feel like I'm part of the Star Wars universe and more importantly feel what it's like to be a true jedi knight. Thank you Ultima Online for allowing me to immerse myself in a fantasy world where I could flirt with chicks, roam through dungeons, do some true open world PvP, and plenty of trading while I was going from my tiny 7x7 house on some island with snakes to eventually a three story custom home of my choosing where I could add more rares and what not to show off.

Thank you World of Warcraft for helping me learn how to socialize and deal with all kinds of communities. To bare with all these noobs and annoying kids just so I can get that boss kill and progress with whatever noob guild I was needed in on my server. The guild drama in World of Warcraft and especially the rage in arena is some of the most epic I've seen.

Finally, thank you to all the other free to play games that were there when I had nothing good enough to spend my $ on. The 5-10% whales got their wins, but so did I vs the majority of the F2P players. So, what are you thankful for?

I'm quite thankful for the absence of quality MMO's, which has given me time to spend on more satisfying hobbies... alas I still cannot stop looking now and then to see if there is anything appealing on the horizon, which there currently isn't.

I'm thankful for the market being flooded with games which can be quickly download and enjoyed.  I'm thankful for highend gaming systems.  I'm thankful for highspeed connections.  I'm thankful for good friends to adventure with.  Thankful TeamSpeak and Discord.  Thankful for playing with gamers from all over the world.

Maybe if you spending money on a game you would learn to appreciate it.

    EVE still awaits you.

Did see a new beta trailer for Albion Online, this one could be for you (and me) if you can let go of this obession to play only "AAA" games.

There is some hope on the horizon...but you have to quit closing your mind to the possibilities.

You wouldn't happen to have a link for that trailer would you?  Thanks!

You sure are a downer.  Do you have any happy thoughts. Maybe this genre isn't healthy for your psyche.  Shooters maybe.
