    Boo.

I liked Curt Shilling the baseball player, but I find little in my heart towards forgiving him over the video game fiasco.  He ripped off a lot of people (that tax loan was supplied by RI taxpayers, don't bury your heads in the sand and think the money popped out of nowhere), and of course tax dollars were wasted investigating him.

If any of you have ever driven through Providence, you would probably agree that the money used for Studio 38 could have been far better spent cleaning the damn buildings.

The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!

Taxpayer money is wasted on awful BS on a daily basis, this just happened to make headlines.  The real disaster of this is that the game was never able to be picked up for a reasonable purchase price from another developer and completed.  I had a lot of hope for this game back in the day and KoA was a really fun game.

He's not a bad guy. He has a passion for video games, especially mmorpgs.  He was a big fan of Everquest if I recall. I don't think he wanted to rip off anyone, or  that he was in it for the money. I think he just  wanted to make a great RPG.

He had cancer in 2014, but he seems to have beaten it.  I wish him well.

He invested something like 20 plus million of his own money, and lost every penny of it, he didnt rip anyone off.  It was just one big poorly run mess.  Businesses fail all the time, this is just another one to throw on the pile.

As usual with people, your blaming the wrong guy, blame RI for throwing the money at 38 studios.

That amount of money is miniscule in comparison to the other amounts wasted on ridiculous things.  At least he was doing something somewhat productive that could possibly generate revenue & well being.

Seems both silly and uninformed to blame Schilling for this. I imagine it's because people think attacking someone because of their political views belongs on this forum , which it doesn't. The blame should be on the state for making stupid decisions, like the blame should have been on those who make all bad mortgage derivative bets in the financial crisis. Schilling, who as another poster said lost all his money including priceless memorabilia from his career, suffered a crushing professional and financial loss.

This is a great victory. Just because his game didn't sell well, doesn't mean he needs to face charges over it. A lot of games don't end up selling well. If every company came out with a failed game and then faced charges over it, there'd be no game companies left except companies like...EA...NCsoft...terrible trashy companies.

This is great news for future and current game developers :)

Also Kingdoms of Amalur IS a lot of fun. I still play it, he came out with a great game. Just didn't sell well is all.
