Summer Games & Ban Waves - Overwatch Column

Blizzard surprised Overwatch fans with two things this week: another massive ban wave for cheaters and the deployment of Summer Games 2016, an update including Overwatch’s first seasonal event. Both were welcome surprises, though the Summer Games event has stirred up some controversy in the Overwatch community.

    Lucio ball is a blast and personally I love limited items don't care if i get them all or not. If I happen to get some great skins or whatever then awesome and I will wear them with pride every now and again I am sure.

    Great update. I like the limited items too. I hate the people who wants everything instantly. When you get these items from boxes it feels different then when you get the normal items. Because you know these are more rare. I don't know it feels more satisfying.

    if you cheat you get banned ... how do people not get this ... Some of the comments are funny ... and really sad to think that they think if they pay for it they can cheat to their hearts content.

    Glad they didn't make these lootboxes purchase-only. There is absolutely no doubt they will make tons of cash on lootbox sales because the skins are limited, but they could've gotten greedy.

    As for the cheaters, it's just mind-boggling. Kudos to blizzard for keeping on top of it, which isn't easy in an fps game.
