I am PhD student at the School of Information & Communication Technology, University of Piraeus, Greece and I am looking for participants in my PhD study!
The link to the questionnaire is: http://goo.gl/forms/U3rliIpU67Kk0aXI2
The main hypothesis of this study is emotionally intelligence is an important skill for leading a successful guild in MMOGs.
The results will provide scientific data that contribute to the limited research in the field and highlight the importance of emotional intelligence in achieving the cohesion and effectiveness of a virtual team.
Your participation in this research is voluntary and anonymously and will involve completing an online questionnaire that should about 15 minutes to complete.
Thank you so much for reading this and hopefully taking part!
Your time and help is greatly appreciated!

1. Why are you picking specific attributes to study instead of simply observing many examples and discovering what attributes contribute in real world success? A binary response of yes/no to your initial study focus does little to explain actual success/failure results if other contributions exist within or outside of the leadership itself.
2. Are you comparing results to existing models of leadership to determine if there are in fact any real differences across industries and communication platforms?
The answer to your question is "yes". That is obvious. The question is how and when is it beneficial or detrimental to success? I have witnessed guilds with average ages under 20 progress further and faster than guilds with average ages around 40 ... yet there is zero chance mixing the 2 groups would work due to drastically different methods of leadership, team building and communication. I have seen guilds clear the toughest content in game with leaders who scream and insult their guild members while guilds with bonds better than most families go effectively nowhere in progression. This is without even going into gender differences.
Seems like a complex study with many variables at play but I suspect there is very little difference overall to existing leadership models ... which already more than a few exist.

Good news is you can improve your EQ, unlike your IQ which is pretty much fixed in our teenage years.
