is it just me or after Final Fantasy 10 they just decided to end the brand and make cash grabs and reclones??? I used to love FF so much and now its just spewing trash every week
Tried it, it's not bad. Not something I will invest a lot of time in, but better than most mobile apps as far as I'm concerned.
Agreed, it's pretty decent. It's very "mobile game", but also not cash grabby unless you don't want to play the game to power up cards. Decent story, bit grindy. Like any other FF game.

The problem for me with their mobile games is at the core its all the same game. Fight waves of enemys with a collection system and that is accompanied with a fusion thing and RNG trying to get high "star" weapons/characters/cards (w/e it ends up being). It must work well for them but they do it too much and its overly noticable. Hell didnt they just put out a game on mobile like a few months back?
I have never been more turned off by a Final Fantasy game than when I watched this video. Then again, I don't understand the mobile audience. This may be valid marketing.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
The combat isnt something I enjoy. Mobile is perfect for turned based systems. Here it is much more efficient to turn on auto and let the AI fight for you.

Yah the auto system is mostly every effective, enough so that you can have it play the entire combat part of the game for you and beat it with little to no problem.

Well what happened was the suits, they ruined the franchise.
First of all GREED,people wanted an updated version of FFXI,they claimed too costly so set out to make FFXIV and charge us 60-80 bucks, way more than they could get by simply updating FFXI.
Problem is they ran into problems, many of them,so the cost rose exponentially.
Then it was a spiraling effect of garbage all set by the suits up top.Worst ever expansions for FFXi,not only worse but one expack set into 3 parts to triple the profits. Then a RUSHED FFXIV because costs were draining the business badly.
Memos sent out to staff,no more experimenting, just go with common trends and even sent out staff to copy ideas from other profitable games. So the once proud INNOVATOR is nothing more than a copy cat developer now still trying to cash in on they brand with Blizzard type crap designs.
Long story short,Square is no longer the developer we loved,no longer creative, really sad because they were the LAST,the last developer to be different, now the entire industry is a EQ2/Wow clone, aka raids, gear grinding, linear questing, nothing more.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
This is an incredibly shallow game. I am not sure why its featured on this site as its not even an RPG. Its just a clicker, it even offers autobattle. There is no exploring. When you finish a battle, your screen literally blinks and bam a new battle has already started. After you are done you move forward on a fairly linear map and do the same.
Not quite sure what qualifies this as a 'Final Fantasy' game for mobile (moogles, maybe?)... but it has a pretty decent (and turn based, yay) battle system. The production values are top notch, and it's well designed for a mobile game (e.g. it only connects to the server a key points, so battles remain smooth even if your connection drops, and you can 'alt-tab' without it breaking).
Assuming the daily rewards keep coming, and you only play for an hour or two a day, it isn't too grindy; premium currency seems kind of pricey though. The story so far (part way through chapter 2) is pretty meh, and while the graphics are nice it's a definite battery killer.
From what I've played I'd give it a 5 to 7 depending on how much you like turn based combat, but I don't see myself investing any money in it (it's just not that compelling), so it will be interesting to see how much SE invest in it's continued development*.
* Note: By continued development I mean additional story chapters, events, cards, jobs, etc.
Companies need cash, people will buy this FF and talk about it, others will buy it. Reviews will be made, more people will buy it. It's the people who let crap happen - if you don't buy it then there MIGHT be no more crap. All people want are cell phones and shitty games. Most people are dumb and get scammed everyday - they get to feel like branded knights walking about in the firelight of illumination driving audis and wearing big sunglasses as they drink poopy gaming like a fine wine.
So I get the mist of what this game is from the comments here. Sounds like a mobile version of XIII.
How does Final Fantasy Brave Exvius compare? I'm guessing it was much of the same judging by the presence of the Auto button in combat screens I've seen.
I just bought FFVII for PC, will probably just stick to it.

If I could turn that off, I would. Not in my power.

The series died for me after IX.
