Pathea Games has sent word that its Kickstarter-funded voxel-based sandbox RPG Planet Explorers has finally kicked off beta on Steam. The beta comes with a massive update that adresses numerous bugs and feature enhancements. The Kickstarter update also reveals a lengthy list of what the developer team will be working on over the course of the next couple months.

    Been playin PE for a couple years , really great game ... Unique world , great crafting and building .. very fun , ben worth every cent of the purchase .. Even thru the alpha hiccups

    I'm shocked i never stumbled upon this on steam or KS previously. Looks a lot like an updated version of Ryzom meets Ark, meets minecraft. Definitely will give it a go.

    It's one of my old favorites from when I first stumbled upon it.. kind of a chill survival game in a sci-fi setting, with the ability to 3d mod your own vehicles and weapons in an in-game editor, which you can then share with others, or use other people's designs. There was an older alpha built available on their website to try out for free.

    Ground vehicles, boats, helicopters or jets. Lots of different things to harvest and things to explore. Jetpack, hang-glider, various strange alien wildlife to hunt, mining (scan for minerals and dig them up).. NPC colony creation, farming, crafting, etc, etc. Oh and the big campaign game can be done co-opt!

    It's a neat little game. I recommended it to some twitch-streamer a while ago and he couldn't stop playing.

    Since i left mmorpgs behind (or mmorpgs left me behind for that matter), i find so many good games that i just can't play them all.

    Looks like someone actually put action into No Man's Sky

    There's nothing more gratifying than playing an MMO for free.

    yes it is, but they have a sale now and then too.
