So what do you guys think about Overwatch? The game has been out for a good bit now. Have you tried it? Why or why not? Do you still play and do you still have fun? What's your favorite/least-favorite things about the game?

I've been playing Overwatch a lot lately after stopping BDO (no comment), and I have to say this game is the most addictive time-waster of a game I've ever played.
I will log on, say I'll just play a game or two, next thing I know it's 7 hours later. This happens like every day. Then I virtually have to pull myself away because I've spent too much time playing already.
If you haven't tried Overwatch yet, I highly recommend it. Even if you never play FPS games, there are heroes that don't require aim. Plus if you want to main Mercy or Lucio (healers) or Reinhart (tank), your teammates will love you since most people like to play DPS and get dem hot kills.
Mainly, the game just has a phenomenal mix of strategy and fun. Maps allow for multiple ways to flank and interactions between heroes are interesting, such as:
Genji's ult is terrifying. He can solo kill an team with it if left unchecked and played skillfully. McCree hitting a perfect flashbang (stun) is one of the very few things that can stop him. On the flipside, Genji can deflect his flashbang, bouncing the stun back at McCree. His deflect is one of the few counters to McCree's stun.
The famous Blizzard polish is here. In fact, it's like the took the bucket of polish and just decided to dump the whole thing on this game. From graphics to voicework to fine-tuning, it's all here.
The game also rewards improvement. You can learn tricks or ways to play heroes more effectively. You can improve your aim. When you get better in Overwatch, you can really feel it.
I love instanced battlegrounds in MMORPGs. The one thing Overwatch lacks compared to those is character progression, but because the game has a decently high skill cap, the progression happens with you as a person as you get better playing the various heroes or aiming better.
My favorite thing about the game is surprising things constantly happen, and are seemingly endless in supply. You just have to go to the Overwatch reddit and filter for "highlight" and every day shows 20 amazing/funny things at least.
One of the thrills of a game of this type for me is user made content. Like TF2 does. Not allowing for that kills it for me. I enjoyed the beta well enough but not enough to buy the game. I suspect a free to play conversion at some point and will try again at that time. I am curious about Quake Champions though as it seems to be the same type of game. By then perhaps Valve will make TF3.....oh wait they hate the number 3. Nevermind.
I think user maps would be pretty cool, but the maps are incredibly well done in Overwatch, imo. New map coming soon looks really good, as well.
I think Blizzard cares too much about the image of the game to allow for user maps. A video on youtube of players duking it out in a building made to look like a giant pair of tits is probably something they don't want the game to be associated with.
The title pretty much describes all the games I currently play. :awesome:

Is one of them Overwatch?
No I haven't played it yet, my dance card is currently full. It's on the list.

This is the only game that i have ever enjoyed healing in. Its also at times the most annoying game when the team sees you need a tank and 4 people take snipers anyways. Not an issue on comp which is also lots of fun. Havent played comp mode enough to know how great it is in higher skill based matched but i definitely enjoy the game. If nothing else it gets my ps4 turned on from time to time.

Nice. I can't really imagine playing this game on console, though. it would be interesting since everyone is using a controller.

My son and I still play it and we really enjoy the quick, fast-paced matches. Our favorite is watching the end rewards and kudos stuff. It's just a lot of fun to watch a killer replay or when one of us makes the list.
My review and my son's video. It's only been a few months, but so far it's holding up well for us.

Yeah it's more about Blizzard having control more than anything else. Look at some of the biggest named shooters in history. Quake,Doom, Unreal, Counter Strike,TF2. All allowed user made maps. Overwatch could use user made maps. Just like just about every multiplayer shooter ever.
I think a lot of that is that the maps have to be balanced and not detract from the flow of the gameplay, nor overly focus on a specific type of gameplay, if that makes sense. The other thing about user made maps is that it would segregate the game, from those who have them, and those who don't, for a game like Overwatch, that would not be a smart move.

I don't relate the game to shooters as much as I do MOBAs, or even MMORPG instanced battlegrounds. Neither of those use custom maps but when done right, both of them have infinite replayability.
I never played TF2, and maybe I really should have since it seems up my ally, but I have played a shit-ton of MOBAs and instanced battlegrounds in MMORPGs. And although custom maps would always be nice, I never thought, "Man, I just can't enjoy this because there are no custom maps."
I could see custom maps being a necessity for plain shooters. There isn't that much going on- you shoot the guy or you get shot. New maps providing new angles would be necessary to keep the game fresh.
Overwatch has tons of heroes which all play and interact differently, and there is a pretty good variety in maps already. They are also coming up with new ones at a fairly quick pace (a new one is coming out in a week or two).
I've been having fun playing it on and off every other day or so. It's really fun to just jump in and play for a few rounds. Also people saying it's casual, not necessarily. It's casual to start yes, you can jump in and do whatever. But in general there is a skill wall that you have to surpass to actually be decent. You need to know what counters what, and go in at the right time with your team mates. It's very hardcore oriented if you have people to play it with.
Competitive mode is where I mainly play, but the issue with that is if I don't have friends to queue with then I get with 5 people who either don't speak english, or just don't want to play as a team so they run in with whoever even if it doesn't make sense. It gets a little infuriating at times.

Yeah when i first started playing it seemed like there was no skill or strategy. It seemed like mostly you just spammed shots and got lucky.
After 120 hours in the game, I discovered there's much more skill and strat than any MOBA I've played.
I've gotten a lot better but I still see huge room for improvement.
I see two skill "celings" really, the first is to just become an adequate player and at least do what you should be doing. I'm probably a little past this one, although I'm still learning some of the ins and outs of certain heroes.
The other one seems super high compared to most pvp games, where you make exceptional plays consistently. That's really hard to do in Overwatch but some people are there.
I think it helps if you have FPS experience to begin with. I watch mendokusaii on twitch and it blows my mind the shit he can do (he played CS:GO a lot). But I have a lot of MOBA experience from SMITE and BG experience from MMORPGs, and I think that helps me with positioning and taking advantage of heroes that counter other heroes.

Anyway, I think the game can definitely be played casually, but it can also be played at a very high level, which makes for a great pvp game imo. You want to have fun at any level, but also feel like you're being rewarded for getting better.
