Livelock, formerly World War Machine, from Tuque Games and Perfect World is a hybrid twin-stick top-shooter and multiplayer ARPG. It can be played solo or with up to three people online with one of three characters (Capital Intellects), and it follows a linear narrative, with re-playability coming in the form of an endless Survival Mode that’s procedurally generated.

There's quite a few instances of these contradictions in your article so it left me unclear on what the game is really like.

I'd like to play with my kid, but only if there's no friendly fire.
If you actually think CNN is "liberal," you need to move out of your trailer and go to college and learn a thing or two about the world. It's the textbook definition of centrist.
That's honestly the game as a whole. Good action, good progression, but hampered by odd or poor design choices in missions and death mechanics.
Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.
