After nearly one hundred twenty hours, I finished my completionist run through Dragon Age: Inquisition today. As I sat staring at the credits and waiting for the short epilogue cinematic that would come after them, I was left with a curious sense of emptiness with a mental image of an empty calendar filled with endless days stretching out in front of me.

you could also go and have a brewskie to take the edge off. or go watch a movie. that helps as well. you can also go to a buffet and gorge yourself into oblivion to ease the pain. i find cici's pizza & chinese buffets to fit the bill there. you'll find that eating those salt and pepper shrimp at the chinese buffets help hold back the tears & sadness. seriously. that and those mussels they have. sweet and sour soup is great too, especially when they have those crunchy things you can put into the soup.

I play them again and choose different options or play the character differently.

I have this strange habit of stop playing the game completely when nearing the end. Happened with The Witcher 2, Pillars of Eternity, Dragon Age Origins and Inquisition. I don't really know why, I just feel like that I don't want it to end, the experience is so good that I'll save it for later or something like that. Of course I eventually get back into it and finish it. I'm pretty sure this will happen with FFXV too, lol.
If the game has a good MP mode, I'll play it aswell.

After that, If I really like it, I will read about the lore, the characters, look for cool fanart, other players opinion on the game and what they like about it, constructive criticism is fine too, then just move on and play other games I guess, and hope for a sequel or a worthy DLC.

If it's my favourite RPG, I usually replay the game over again (about 3 to 4 times) till I'm completely done with the game and move on to something else.

Keep logging on, since your game has turned into a fee-based facebook with Pokemon battles long ago.

Only the very best games, books, movies & TV series make me feel that way when they're over.

So you start looking for the new thing. I've never failed to find another one that's as good or often better than the one I missed horribly for all of those 15 minutes :)

    I can't find anything.

Nothing. I still go back to it now and then. Just like how I'm currently re-watching GOT from the beginning (man some of those kids were young when the series started!)

I don't really try to find substitutes. Although I did once date a Sandra just after breaking up with a Sandy... but the first was a brunette and the other one a blonde :)

I attempted Lords of the fallen but man, it's rubbish imo.

I'll probably give a try Dragon Age Inquisition and see where that goes.

I finished that relatively quickly when it first came out. I played a Knight Enchanter and found it ridiculously easy to solo dragons but I know they got nerfed severely once or twice. Not sure what the better classes are now.

Well I enjoy melee classes I'm probably going to try the assassin or the trapper even if they are harder roles.

Its why I only play MMORPGs ever since I first discovered the genre, I don't want the story to ever end.

Sadly most newer titles are designed these days without any sort of longevity, or with really pointless goals such as gear grinds which is why I don't care for them.

Good point. MMORPGs should be more like modern fantasy "trilogies"... the ones with 12 books in the trilogy :)

I'm daft okay okay cut the jokes but I get into stupid mode. When I start playing a game I really like I go a little crazy and start checking other games buying them all and foolishly not even waiting for sales and start them all and end up not finishing anything.

If by some miracle I finish something like Mass Effect 2 I sit there very forlorn and wish I had not finished it. I do move on since I watch Korean,Japanese and Taiwanese dramas together with tonnes of anime and read a lot but it simply is not enough I feel the void keenly. So I go and play the other games I had started but somehow even if they are good I will constantly compare them to the game I had finished and they all just get half played which is a terrible waste since those games may have been good and I just squandered any chance of enjoying them by being still in love with the game I finished.

It's like falling in love I guess.

After finishing a game that takes 50+ hours I usually spend my spare time on another form of entertainment until next lengthy game releases.

I usually burn the computer in memory of such a great game.  Knowing that the last game the computer played was worthy of such admiration.

Then I go play something like,  Fallout 4, Crysis, Warband, Assassin's Creed, Dragon's Dogma, Shadow of Mordor, Metal Gear V and one of them grabs me for another round.
Are you onto something or just on something?

I'll play the different characters for replay value, then read up on some walkthroughs and often find I've missed some interesting variations and/or Easter eggs, which give me a reason to replay it again. The last thing I usually do is mod the game out which usually makes it feel like a new game and leads to more plays. After that the game goes into the rotation pool when I replay it once a year or so.

Is this a repost from Jan 2015? It says that date on the article?
Obviously fine if so, just curious.
What drugs are you on?  It is Jan 2015.  Wait! Are you from... the future?!
