It was that scale back that took the game off my radar. This is the problem with early marketing of a game. Or perhaps better stated at marketing features you haven't yet added to your game.

Kyleran: "Now there's the real trick, learning to accept and enjoy a game for what it offers rather than pass on what might be a great playing experience because it lacks a few features you prefer."
John Henry Newman: "A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault."
FreddyNoNose: "A good game needs no defense; a bad game has no defense." "Easily digested content is just as easily forgotten."
LacedOpium: "So the question that begs to be asked is, if you are not interested in the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you playing an MMORPG?"
at least steams allows for that. Would be easier with an open beta weekend or trial instead.

I like lobby shooters on occasion but I am not even considering this one because it is not to be what I thought. Not to mention a lot of the reviews of its current state. Having played Space Marine, and enjoying it, this just sounds like it is a worse version with perhaps more options as playable characters.
Here's to hoping someone can put a good Warhammer game together, be it an MMO or some kind of shooter, before I kick the bucket.

Had high hopes... They showed off the weapons, and character models...
But when I logged in the game 3 months ago... I was disappointed, but hopeful... cause they had 3 months to fix things.
I guess they didn't.

Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

I think the first closed alpha was about 1 year ago. It was a disappointing mess with the most horrible, clunky controls imaginable. I never touched it again and thought "well, it's alpha. they will fix it." Haven't really kept up with the game since, well, the transition from MMO to lobby shooter kinda made me lose all interest.
Received an e-mail yesterday that this game is going live. Tried it again and oh boy, gameplay is still the same as during closed alpha. How a game with such clunky and horrible controls can exist in 2016 is beyond me.
I am a hardcore 40k fan, but this game is almost as bad as Space Marine - and that's as unflattering as it gets.
I have hated games but never regretted purchasing a game. This is the first time I have been outraged regarding the quality and fun of a game. Fucking ridiculous its a shell of a game, that costs $50 bucks...
they sold us MMOTPS but delivered arena MP shooter

Without Early Access crap games died earlier, some were never even started up at all, now we have a situation that leaves people feeling conned because any jackass can launch something, claim huge never gonna happen features, go early access, keep spewing lies till ready to run off with the cash.

Game scaled down to a lobby shooter.
Game released straight from alpha at a AAA price point.
Game infographic on Steam removed due to the fact most of the listed features don't exist.
New, much shorter infographic still lists missing features.
Steam's recent review policy changes prevent founder reviews from impacting game's overall score.
Behaviour Interactive is a bunch of lying con artists. I hope they all get eaten by ravenous squigs.

Models look terrible, the firing looks ok,i do prefer arena over open world for this type of combat but yes maps look like amateur hour similar to my complaints in OW.
IMO not even the legendary Quake series had very good skillful maps, yes they looked good/cool because of cool textures but imo Unreal maps and even those made by community have always been miles the best.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Bought the game maybe 6 months ago when there was only space marines and chaos, mostly only played a couple of matches with each new patch.
The game isn't really bad, it's just.. unfinished. When you add an entire new faction 1 month from launch or whatever it was, things are not going to be polished. With that said, barring the rubberbanding and weird deaths from lag it's pretty fun stabbing space marines with my banshee (since that's all i get to play against).
But this game shouldn't have been released this year.
At any rate, due to that skepticism, I was not surprised when they announced it was mostly going to just be another lobby shooter.
What DOES dissappoint me, however, is it can't even be considered a finished game, even by its few defenders, when it comes to THAT. So it's like, $50 for this unfinished lobby shooter, or $40 ($60 with extras) for Overwatch. Or Paladins F2P. Hmm....
At least you can play as Orks and Eldar I guess. Don't think that's ever been possible in a WH40k FPS game.
