    This guy just doesn't stop. If I recall, he put up a kickstarter for like 800k that he took down a week later when it was obvious he would not even get close to funding it. Does anyone really think this titan of the gaming industry who has been paying himself very well for over 15 years can't get a lousy 200k to make a game?


    Crowdfunding has turned into unemployment/retirement funding for the has-been's of the gaming industry. Internet panhandling is all this is at this point. Sorry Smed, looks like you are going to have to come up with another idea to get paid for doing nothing now that SOE dumped you. This is getting really pathetic, next he will be on social media offering to come and wash your car in a chicken costume if you will donate to his project. Please just go away already, and take Brad McQuaid, Richard Garriot and Chris Roberts with you. You guys can sit at a table putting puzzles together and talk about the good old days when you made games that were successful.

    For a measly 200k they still are funding it themselves.

    I've seen it the other way around on these forums as well, which is just as pathetic.

    Some of the top dogs in the industry have been part of a development process for years...and when the product fails or doesn't even get delivered, these guys are never part of the problem.

    It's really really just too bad that Smed has made some poor decision in the past at SOE, and after the mis-management of EQNext / Landmark, both Daybreak Games and this guy will never get my money.
    As much as I loved the EQ franchise, I can't in my right mind go back to any of that if Daybreak is at the helm.
